Here's a pic of my weekend's work - a seatbelt tower brace / luggage "net". What do you think? Once I've taken the carpets out, dried them, fixed any damage and refitted them, I'll install this and see what affect it has on handling. |

Looks great. I like the idea of incorporating the luggage 'net' into it too |

It's welded to the bar by the looks of the picture |

There is no net. You put your coat in at the top and the bars stop it falling through. |

Excellent job, and the best thing is that looks off the shelf. Another idea for my ongoing restoration cheers |

That's more like it! I've been out for a bit of a drive today, now that the salt has been washed off the roads and I've refitted the interior of the car. The rear tower brace makes so much difference to the handling. More than the front strut tower brace I'd say. The car still leans into the corners quite quickly when turning in quickly but it no longer feels like it flops onto the bump stops and stays there.
The steering feels slightly heavier and a bit more "springy" but the car is more taught and more fluid through tight bends. Makes me want to do another track day. |

Nice work! Is it painted or powdercoated? |

Thanks guys. It is painted with Halfords aerosols, which I managed to botch and not correct properly through rushing. It does look like powder coat in the pictures now you mention it.
