Its been a while since i've done anything with my adaptronic, but now i'm finally getting everything fitted and ready to go see Wayne.

I can remember how to wire in the TPS and knock sensor but i cant find anywhere on this site details on wiring up an alternative map sensor.  I will be adding a new loom to connect the TPS, knock and MAP sensors i just dont know which connections i'm meant to connect the MAP to on the ecu loom.  I intend to leave the existing cars loom and original connections all available should i need to revert back to stock ecu.

Has a ECU connection layout been posted on this site before i cant seam to find it if it has.

cheers

not sure if it's been posted but you would have had it in the files we got from Grant along with the ecu. I'll email it to you.

You can use the 3 original wires in the existing loom. I made a plug up from an old map sensor to plug into the loom in the engine bay when I fitted mine.

Having said that I did what you are doing when I fitted an adaptronic to the LGD recetly and ran a new multi core screened cable for the 3 bar MAP sensor, Knock sensor and analouge TPS that was fitted.

I have the wireing connections written down at home so I can look it up on the weekend for you.

I started out like this - always allowing myself to go back to the stock ecu. But there will come a point that you wont want to go back (with me it was when I started using the adaptronic as my boost controller) - from this point on you realise you're never going back and it all becames a lot simpler. You add/change more bits and the stock ecu hasn't a cat in hells chance of getting the engine to run properly.

If I did it again I'd just commit to the adaptronic from day 1 and just chop/replace any wires that got in the way, but I suppose, back then when we started, there was no gaurantee that it worked.

^ Yep I did the same with KOF33, very carefully retained the original wiring/plugs just in case I wanted to refit the original ecu but it doesnt matter anymore now that's why when I fitted the one to the LGD I just ran new cables/plugs as needed and ignored a lot of the original stuff.

Fantastico, cheers Don.

I'm adding an extra loom for 3 reasons, to ensure the original is ok should anything go wrong, to give me a load more wires in the engine bay for the extra 4 guage sensors about to fitted and to prevent the mechanic from ripping them all out  next time he works on the engine like he did last time.  I have an old suzuki loom taken from a scrapper that has been damaged by welding at one end and can easily be modified and should look perfectly inkeeping with the original wiring.

I've got this weekend only to fit boxes of parts and with the help of my beautifull assistant i think i can get the coilovers cleaned and refurbed, fit the reconditioned wishbones with new bushes and rubbers, strengthen (again) the body kit, fit new fuel pressure regulator, fit new oil and water temp and pressure sensors and switch gear, get this loom in with TPS etc wired and ready for swapping straight over and get the adaptronic ready so that i can get it to wayne soon and have it capable of sitting on his rollers without any issues.

And as it's all got to be done outside we've the perfect weather for it too

Heres the wire colours and pin numbers.

If you are fitting the MSD 3 bar MAP sensor supplied by Adaptronic the wire colours on the sensor and the E420C wiring loom are the same.

SIGNAL = MSD/E420C ORANGE = E420C PIN A18 = CAP PIN PM = CAP COLOUR Lg/Y
GROUND = MSD/E420C BROWN = E420C PIN A9 = CAP PIN E2 = CAP COLOUR B/G
+5V = MSD/E420C YELLOW = E420C PIN A8 = CAP PIN VCC = CAP COLOUR Lg/R

I have added the Cappo pin and wiring colour details also.

Have fun.

Almost forgot.

After fitting the 3 bar sensor you will have to change the ADC values for the MAP sensor which I think are under the Analogue tab in WARI.

Try these but you may haver to make some adjustments.

Lower value = 16, ADC reading = 174
Upper value = 300, ADC reading = 3310

After changing these with the ECU (ignition) on and engine off the MAP value should read 100 to 101 kPa (absolute atmospheric pressure) if not you may have to adjust a couple of ADC values but usualy not by much.
