I thought it was just my cappo but I have noticed in another thread other owners are having a problem at idle when the air cond kicks in. Heres what the problem and the fix.

Its is not the A/C input effort trigger as in window F11 you will see that turn on it is actualy the Electrical Load 2 input which is not triggering and in conjunction with the air conditooning doesnt give enough extra effort at idle.

Electrical load 1 works fine and is triggered by the ventilation fan and some other things.
Electrical load 2 is triggered by the Headlights, Rear Window Heater and Radiator Fan.

As I said above I thought it was just my cappo as it was getting a low voltage feedback (about 2 to 3 volts) when the radiator fan came on but it should be a trigger to ground. The low voltage feedback was just high enough that it wouldnt let the adaptronic trigger the EL2 input. I assumed it was a faulty diode somewhere in the cappo wiring harness but couldnt be bothered to find it so I did this.

The fix? Wire in a relay with the EL2 input for the adaptronic wired through a normally open contact and then to ground. Find a 12 volt feed that powers up when the ignition is on and wire that to one side of the realy coil then wire the other side of the relay coil to the cappo's EL2 input wire. When EL2 is then triggered the relay will pull in giving a clean ground to the ECU. You need both the A/C input effort and the EL2 input effort to trigger when the A/C is on for a stable idle.

Yes,

IGN is +12 volt with igniton on (engine runing)
Bottom EL2 input is the signal from the cappo wiring loom (originally wired to the ecu EL2 input)
Top EL2 input is the signal to the ECU (Originally wired to the cappo wiring harness)
GND is ground.

Apart from the +12v and GND you cut the connection the EL2 connection from the cappo wiring harness to the ecu and use these wires on the other 2 relay connections.

Ok i tried this today and it hasn't appeared to work, it hunts slower but still hunts, i'll check the relay i've used when i get a chance.

I've wired as above, the 12v coming from the ignition 12v that goes to the ecu via the wide white connector, i've taken a ground off the narrow white connector, and thin pink wire from ecu to switch side of relay and the wire that comes from the original harness to the pink is now on the coil side of the relay providing the earth for the relays 12v supply.

Does this make sense?

Yes but connect the grounds directly to ground or the body of the car.
Basicaly you cut the original EL2 feed wire to the ECU and connect it to the realy, add a 12 volt feed and then earth it to the car.

So the ground from the ecu is unsuitable i also wondered if i have it wired into the correct input, on my aux in tab the aux 2 is ???????? listed as A/c.  When i press the A/c switch though the 5th input is triggered in my ECU data windownot the 2nd one.  Should this happen.

Take the ground direct to the chassis or car body somewhere convenient.

Aux 2 or input 2 should be for EL2 and Aux 5 should be for the A/C input.

If you look at the excel spread sheet with the cappo to adaptronic pin out/connections you will see it.
