Hey guys, Having troubles starting the car. I've had the starter rebuilt but the problem hasn't changed I'm wondering if maybe the starter I have is not the OEM one? it doesn't look right, there is a hole for a mounting bolt on the engine but no matching one on the starter... Here is a picture

Does that look right at all? Or do I need to try and find a new starter? If I do umm anyone got one!?
Thanks for any help.

It does look a bit different to mine. (See pic)
I'd be surprised that if it was working before, that it wouldn't still work.

Did you have the solenoid checked when you had the starter rebuilt?
Do you hear a clicking noise? Does it turn at all? Um.... Does it start when you do the old hit it with a block of wood while I try to start it trick? Is there power getting to the starter / solenoid?

So the good news is I think I've found a way of taking photos of the parts manual I have for the Suzuki Cara (the AZ-1's OEM brother).
I hope this page is of some help.

The problem when I try to start it is it will just give a click. Often times it just starts right up no issue. Other times I turn the key and just hear 'click' and get nothing. a few key turns and it will start. I haven't smacked it with a wood block yet. Never thought of trying that. The issue has been on-going for a long time. Hasn't yet been resolved It's not a Huge issue as the car will start eventually and sometimes like I said goes on the first try. I'm just worried that one day I'll go for a drive and it will have had enough, so it wont start at all on me.

Thanks for the picture!

So, Definatly the wrong starter in the my car How that hasn't been noticed before I don't know, but whatever this Is my car we're talking about here haha.

Craig from Bonsai Rides (link in the Canadian section on the forums) happened upon this link for me. http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b121120193 Unfortunatly he said that one is in Yamamoto so there is a chance it'll be radioactive from the nuclear plant Seems Lots of different types of starters for F6A engines. But not a whole lot that Properly fit the AZ-1. This one is Denso 31100-70B2 1  128000-6671. I've found a few with all the same numbers but 6672 instead. Anychance that would fit or is it better to not risk it and wait for a proper, un-radiated, one to appear?

sorry to sound like a bit of a knob but Im so sick of the media and idiots causing panic when the biggest trouble Japan is facing is panicked morons hoarding food and supplies.

This would be no issue for me to source and send to you.

Amen Jesse.
The media is either dumb as a box of rocks, or just creating fear to get people to buy more news papers.
