Hi fellow AZ-1ers!

Finally took my AZ-1 in to have the water pump replaced, thanks to your advice I got a new one from a Matiz and all is good.

Or it would have been if the mechanic hadn't suggested he take a look at some bearing noise I was getting on the front right wheel....

Turns out as far as I can tell the front hub assembly on our cars (and Cappos) is a one-piece, and the bearing can't be replaced - you have to replace the whole assembly.

So my question to the AZ-1 hive-mind is - Is this view of the world correct? If so, how do I source a replacement hub assembly? Are they shared with anything more common? Can you furnish me with a part number?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Inigo

Not one piece at all, have a look at the pic from the parts manual and you'll see what I mean. I'm fairly sure the bearings are the same as those on the alto, but what ever they are from the'll be fairly standard.

Sorry I hadn't noticed this thread until now inigo.

The bearing (33-075) is listed as size 35x62x14 and its suzuki part number is 09262-35032. 33-075a is size 35.1x42.7x23 and it's suzuki part number is 09180-35005. If you can't get one from suzuki somewhere like cbc bearings should be able to match up a bearing for you or possibly machine one down to size if it's not a stocked item. You will probably need a hydraulic press to remove and refit the bearing from the assembly. Most good mechanics should be able to do this for you or failing that I'd try a driveshaft specialist.

Glad to hear the matiz pump is a goer!
