A few people have said that they would like to have a membership card. All we need now is a design!  So if you're feeling creative please feel free to come up with a few designs.
The cards would need space for:
Username
Date joined
Unique Member Number (UMN)
They would also need to include the logo please. |

Just a quick thought. This is a free to join club. Who is going to pick up the tab for the consumables, printing, postage etc associated with the production of the cards......do I take it that is you Andy...on top of all the work you already put into keeping the board running smoothly 
I'm not trying to put a dampner on the idea just being a bit practicle.  |

| The idea was that they would be 'e' membership cards that are not compulsary. Some people said they would like one, others don't. Members would actually print off their own card and then laminate or do what they like with it. They could even get it reproduced on plastic if they wanted. |

Probably a lot more than you think. Don't forget we can't base that just on post counts as there are many members who frequent the site regularly but don't actually post, which is totally up to them. I did a quick count up and today alone there have been 46 different members online. |

| So,, a nice colourful but subtle logo and basic membership card details -= (name etc) - without numbering, so whoever wants one, prints it off on their own printer/paper and trims it to wallet size.... simple enough project surely |

| Well I think it would be useful to have the UMN on them so that they can be used for the various discounts. Once a design has been created people can just request one, I'll put the UMN on and email the design for them to print. |

Yep - but maybe not a solid background - a lot of people will only have inkjet printers and solids often print poorly.
Maybe better to have a plain or lightly tinted background IMHO |

Sounds good. I actually like your design there Andy. It's not too colourful which may cause problems with low resolution/quality home printers and has all the CluCappo logo's....Looks like your won first prize  |

The UMN is assigned when people join and given out on request. I'd suggest not using the chassis number as for UK models it would be very long. I would also need to collect that information off members which I wouldn't be happy doing to be honest. |

Most of the people offering discount either just take the member's word or some ask for the Unique Member Number. UMNs are available on request as is the member card template (if I can remember where I saved them )
