Woke up to a not very nice surprise today. Some people decided it would be fun to roll the car onto its side.
All in all the damage is not the worst it could of been. Aside from the obvious bodywork damage, only the drivers wing mirror and indicator lens suffered (posted in the wanted section if anyone can help). The door and panels are pretty dented and scrapped but it does drive.
Just curious to see if this has happened to anyone and if there's anything specific to check for. It does drive and apart from the window mechanism not working I can't see any faults. No oil or fluid leaks, which is pretty good.
Need to decide if I'll claim too, pretty sure with the body repairs they'll write it off. Maybe this will spur me onto a full restoration and upgrade...
All advice welcome.
Cheers,
Joe |

Been done to a member before and it cost him a lot of time getting the insurance company to play ball. It maybe worth a claim provided your excess aint to high. |

Sorry to hear that bud, i know your pain, happened to me about 4 years ago. I was only covered 3rd party so the insurance company didn't want to know. Mine was flipped right on to its roof so it damaged the roof, broke the screen, flattened the bonnet and the front wing. Ended up breaking it down for spare parts as it was past repair.
Chased them off after it was done so i got a good idea of what they were wearing and managed to get hold of some cctv footage from the local shop so i worked out who did it. Despite this the police couldn't do anything to prosecute, the only thing they did managed to do was almost arrest me after it happened. I called them and they couldn't send anyone out because it wasn't urgent enough. Apparently a upside down car in the middle of the road isn't a hazard! Next thing two police officers on a patrol pull up on push bikes, they assume the car was rolled driving and tell me not to move and 2 mins later 2 riot vans turn up! Anyway hope you catch the assholes who did it and if the damages isn't too bad good luck with the repair |

Thanks everyone. I'm still deciding about insurance, excess is not so much so we'll see. No idea who they were, police have no idea either. Have to say they were on the scene pretty quick by all accounts. They righted it too. It happened outside my flat, loads of other cars, seems like a nice area etc. Just rubbish, gets you down but it's still alive, can't keep it down |

I'm really sorry to hear about this. I don't know what gets into people to do stuff like this. I find it outrageous.
Mac Man Dan - wasn't aware they nearly arrested you for your one!
I keep mine in a shed (when its not at Zcars)...& would recommend it strongly, it keeps it out of harms way & out of sight from kn*b heads:
I bought a 12ft x 7ft Apex Beast Shed with 6ft double doors at one end to allow me to drive the car right in, and 5ft double doors on the dirver side to allow me to simply open the car door and step out of both car & shed. It has security (narrow)windows & the floor is heavy duty. doors come with security hinges, bolts and a cast iron pad lock protector. They also added extra floor runners for me for increased strength & I opted for an extra layer of roof material - not felt something else can't remember the name.
Its a nice dark brown colour and looks like a normal shed in a front drive from the outside. I also put a little movable ramp togther from extra decking I had lying around. I had an electrician hook the shed up for lighting, and eg for a battery trickle charger and/or dehumidifier. You should budget for a concrete base/platform too. Then they just turn up and assemble it for you in a few hours. Note it can be disassembled and moved if you move house etc.
Speak to Phil@easyshed.co.uk
Cost for shed was just over 2k - not including the concrete base & electricity supply.
If dogs weren't so good at sussing out I like cats, I would add a guard dog & kennel to the front drive
