It might help people help you if you write what sort of spec are you after.

The cost of the engine conversion itself is going to vary massively depending on stock bsa engine, rebuilt? Turbo'd etc etc.

But then you are going to need chassis mods, brake mods....
.....the list goes on and on.

Do you want a price for just the engine in and running or the whole shabang?

I would have a guess of 10K-30K GBP. This would depend on how many compromises you make and how much you do yourself. Some guesses of costs or at least things to think about.

engine 1500
prop shaft(s) 1000
exhaust 1000
reverse box 700
dry sump setup 1500
air box 300
wiring 1000
Diff change 2000
engine mounts 1000
gear shifter 300
clutch hyd conversion 600
fuel system 300

A lot. Im currently in the process of converting to a GSXR1000 engine and am afraid to tally up the cost sheet. Till now its been like this (All prices approximate)

Engine: 1100
Reverse Box: 550
Wiring: 250
Radiator + oil cooler: 300
Exhaust: 300- 400
Lightweight battery: 260 (Optional)
Race Dash: 550 (Optional)
Labour: Probably around 1500 - 1700

And there definitely is something that I am forgetting at the moment or things that might still need buying like most probably a quick shifter.

Although a much cooler swap option, the Hayabusa engine is not for the shallow of wallet or absent of tech skill. A more reasonable alternative is going with a G13b or G16b block G13b DOHC hybrid swap. Much less required in regards to incidentals if one goes this equally powerful...but far less cool route.

All of this is still far cheaper than what I done, which is slightly horrifying to know :/

Mine was stupidly expensive.

I hope to bring mine out to the first available meet over summer 2015.

I would recommend I take anyone considering a busa conversaion for a spin. I.e. experience the end product first.

How feasible would it be to use the BMW bike gearbox like the one used in this Honda S600 bike conversion?

He says that the gearbox is the stock bike gearbox in this case the CBR1000 one, its the driveshaft and diff that are off BMW

agree, just about all conversions use the bike gearbox
I have a hayabusa gearbox (6S no reverse) and a landrover freelander diff and custom axles and prop shafts
