The oil seal on the gearbox output shaft is leaking.  Do I need to remove the gearbox to replace the seal, or can it be replaced in situ?  Can I prise out the old seal, and tap in a replacement?

If I have to remove the gearbox, do I need a clutch alignment tool to refit the gearbox (sorry, this is my first car, and I am learning my mechanic skills the hard way!)

Alternatively, can the end case be removed without removing the gearbox?

Thanks in advance for your help.
