Evening all

I have just been invited to represent the UK in the EMMA (European Mobile Media Association) Euro finals with the car audio build I have in my Cappo. Some of you may have seen it at this years KKITP meet. The event is exclusively for the best sounding cars in Europe, so I am very happy to be part of it. However, it is held in Salzberg (860 miles from home) and I want to know if anyone has covered that sort of milage. I've only covered short distances before and I am concerned that 860 miles will just be too much for my 6" body.

Is it an organised convoy drive or do you just make your own way there?  Just make sure there are plenty of rest stops, which there should be on any long journey, and you'll be fine.

Drop me a PM if you would like to be added to the ClubCappo Member Map.  More details can be found here.

I commute 250miles a week in my capo!
That's two 125 mile trips a week.
I have done a 4 hour drive from my home to Stoke on Trent. Solid 4 hours no problems!
I think the weak link will be your ability to sit still for the 13 hours or so driving it'll take you .

Have a word with Rasmus Hassing.

He's 6'3" and about a month ago drove a Cappuccino 820 miles (Watford to Copenhagen) between lunchtime and 8am the following morning.

This in itself is a fairly spectacular achievement but when you take into account that for most of the time he didn't have the vaguest idea where he was it gets even more impressive.

He got lost twice before he made it out of my road.

Which is a cul de sac.

Driven from the Sunshine Coast in Australia to Sydney and back which would be a similar distance each way.
Yep 6 foot tall and the car is fine but you need to do it in about 2 hours stints to stretch the legs.

Thanks for the replies. So it seems the general consensus is that it shouldn't be a problem, so long as I take a few breaks. I did the trip as a passenger last year in a VW Passat estate. It took us just over 16 hours to do the 860 miles. I'm sure I could beat that going down the Autobahn now I have the N1 ECU. It just depends whether I can keep my eyes open for that long.

You could always turn the radio up.

That should keep you awake.

Not to mention half of Germany.

Come to think of it, some time ago my dad used to keep quite a lot of Germans awake.

The Lancaster was very good at it.

I'll get my coat.

I wouldn't use a cappuccino as a daily driver, that just my personal opinion, where I live their are a lot of bad driver and i would just not want to get it damaged especially  in the usa where I have to import everything for it. The only place I would drive it in is in my local  track that why I said trailer.
And by the way who said cars can't be decoration (http://images.complex.com/complex/image/upload/t_article_image/r5s2984xolwokfe4qo2o.jpg)
I like my cars to look like they just rolled of the dealer, shiny and bright.

How ever you get there.

Good luck with the competition. When I saw your hard work at KKITP I was extremely impressed
You'd made a small car a mobile sound system of perfection.
I hope you can add to your collection of trophies

I feel the same way but then I start thinking what if something happens to it and then dollar signs appear in my head, so that why apart from my daily driver I prefer to take  my other car out on rare occasions, like track meets or car shows, but I completely agree with you cars are made to be driven  I just start to worry once they go out of production because part availability becomes more expensive  and harder to find part

A few years ago (we were both in our 70s) we drove from Inverness to the Harz Mountains in the Cappuccino, and back,  on a self catering holiday. A little cramped but great fun.
