Hi all,
Thought I'd show you my beloved Cap after a respray and lots of other fettling - I've decided to keep it and use it a lot more, after selling another hobby car (MGBGT).
I refitted the original (rare, factory option) BBS wheels with new tyres. Each wheel+tyre weighs 5kg less than the 16" ones I've had on for the last ten years or so!
I also did a thorough engine bay cleanup and service, including timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and many other things. Replaced the factory air filter box instead of the pod filter, no more blowoff noises but it seems to run better than ever... probably because the pod filter was very blocked after years of neglect (by me!).
I've had it since 1997 and I think it's worth holding onto. 1992 luxury model with ABS, LSD, electric mirrors and quite a few other goodies. I'll keep it original on the outside, but looking to make a few performance improvements over time.

Not only are the alloys time period appropriate but really gorgeous and factory option.
20kgs less overall? You must be able to tell the difference...
Make sure it doesn't rust underneath, it really is nice...
