Guys, after advice , bought a 1993 cappo with 20000 miles on the clock , still has original timing belt etc I believe as it hasnt been done since it came to uk in 1996 with 15000 miles on the clock . eeekkkk...

any advice , my other cappo I fitted a ebay tensioner and monster sport belt.

any advice and contacts in UK would be great . ooo Im fitting a new pump also .

Just dont want to risk it with ebay specials but hesitant to pay the OEM price , cheers alan c

try gsf  for good quality parts
if you get a known brand like gates continental etc you cant go wrong
i doubt there is much wear on the water pump or idler at 20k but its your call

if you do change the water pump ask for OE spec or above. cheap pumps are known to leak after a few years

Cheers Mikei,

Just thought that with the pump it was worth doing if you are in doing the belt ....

personally I would not touch it , but if they go is it a catastrophic issue ?

thx , I think Ill go for an aftermarket and not an original or a monstersport jobbie timing belt and leave the pump alone and leave the tensioner as is .
