I'm thinking of changing the steering wheel, for a small one, but as always, I am clueless about what I should do/know about it. I was hoping to do it this month, but will have to wait now, because I had some unexpected repairs done last week after I crashed Mistigris ... anyway, back to the point, I've been wanting to have a "small" steering wheel, any advise/suggestions always welcome ! Got plenty of time now to think about it, 'cause I can't afford it until next year ... by the way, how much will that cost ? ... |

The most important thing to know is that there are two main screw patterns to attach the wheel to the boss. The Cappo bolts are at 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 o'clock and the other type has ones that are at 12, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 o'clock.
Some of the manufacturers that use the same pattern as the original Cappo wheel are Raid, Nardi and Autotecnica. Momo etc use the other configuration. However the Swift GTi hub apparently fits the Cappo so if you do find a wheel you like with the Momo pattern all is not lost. |

Small Nardi is the way forward! Or Personal (which is all made by the same company)
No mucking around with another boss kit as it is a direct replacement as Andy has mentioned |

Thanks everyone for your replies. Sorry I am always ever so late to reply and acknowledge, my only excuse is that I do work 2 jobs and I'm not home much ... Thanks to everyone's emails, I have checked, and I do prefer so far the Mamo Team look rather than all the Nardis I've seen on various websites. I can't afford it right now, so much has happened this month and I will have to wait ... not sure how "Mistigris" is coping anyway with his first English winter ... got more ice inside the car than outside ?! Yesterday, my back window had "stallagtites" inside ! A great car though, but in desperate need of a garage ... so worried about damaging him, less than a year after I got him ... Thanks again for your replies, I'll keep you informed ... probably not until spring though ... ?! |

Nardi/ Personal etc are 74mm PCD, same as the Cappy, but most of the others are 70mm PCD. However, you can get an adapter ring to swap from one to the other and they're only a few quid from memory. Cheaper than a new boss anyway. |

The adapter rings that were available from ebay aren't available any longer. Do you know somewhere else that's stocking them Wayne? |

DT have 60mm thick OMP 'spacers' in that have both bolt patterns so, as long as the wheel is a shallow-dish, you could use one of those.
In the quick skim-through the catalogue that I had, I didn't see the thin ones. |

An extra 6cm is a hell of a lot. It seems to be more than the boss kits too... |
