Picked up this intercooler today for 20e at a scrap yard. I can return it if it does not fit but what do you guys think? I would love to get it fitting sweet.

Looks like a perfect installation job. Just change the bit of rope to match the other side.

It's the inlet pipes......that looks awkward to me.

Theres a great intercooler comparison test where they compare a heap of OEM intercoolers. They look at quite a few things such as flow and intercooler size. What they find makes for interesting reading as bigger isn't always better. Admittedly the cappa intercooler is tiny but there are some small ones that work extremely well for their size.

Personally I would think the length of the pipes needed and turns and bends in them could hinder airflow? Also the diameter of the pipes if they were too big may take the pressure out of the system thus effecting the amount of cold air passing thru the intercooler?
However all the experts say bigger is better so I said I would give it a try. I don't think this one is the solution the more I look at it.

Good find but I agree with the other comments on hinder of airflow due to length of pipeing and also the bends would be a b*gger to get sorted......but that said it would look great.......

Thats the one. It's what made me want to chase the GT-TI intercooler until I found that there were almost none in NZ. That and I was given a MR2 intercooler.

Interesting from the first Item Japtaxi.......
The LAST one on the list, placed 25th...Suzuki Cappuccino....NOT.
Maybe an Alto, coz it's top mounted and the pipes are in the wrong place for a Cappo....
Last Line....'Don't Bother Buying This One'...lol, guess you wouldn't if you were upgrading.....

Ollidel, if you can fit 90deg. Silicone Elbows onto the inlet/outlets WITHOUT them touching the tyres on full lock, then you should be able to make it fit with a couple of straight pipes and couple more Elbows. You could also try turning it up the other way if they interfere with the tyres....Good luck.

Thanks for all the advice. @Sneaza I was thinking doing something similar to what you suggested but did not think of the silicone elbows.
With the small displacement of the cappo engine too much pipe work could cause turbo lag?
I think I will scrap this idea and go back to standard for the moment until I find something more suitable maybe.
Also while I am on the topic part of me thinks that bigger diameter pipe work on upgraded intercoolers could be counter productive if they are too big? Small engine unable to put air through the intercooler with any great force?
For me an intercooler with similar pipe diameter & core dimensions as standard but with bigger surface area and placed lower on the bumper to benifit from more of a rush of cold air would be a good set up?
Did anyone ever try to join two standard intercoolers to get bigger surface area for cooling?
I might but up a crude diagram later

With the length and size of the pipes you would need to fit it you would definately get a lot of turbo lag.
