It would be interesting to see if Suzuki would remain in the range of Kei Cars.

Would a re release of the cappuccino in whatever guise mean that those with mint originals find the value increasing?

Well....the original Mini was FWD and it was tonnes of fun....doubt it would be anything remotely similar though to the original mini.

As a mate says(vaguelly translated)...walking with your arms is completely different than walking with your legs

Lets hope they address the awful corrosion resistance and galvanise the body. That would be nice. But find it hard to see how it will fit In the k car class. As it would have to incorporate all of today's technology and safety features. And this all takes up more space and more weight. But on the other hand if anyone can do it it's boat certainly going to be the Japs

If it's going to be FWD then it's probably no better than a topless Alto.  But if Caterham are involved (God I hope so), it should be RWD. Shouldn't it?

Well the second article seems to think the original was FWD, so that's all trust out the window. I've said for a while now that there's a huge market for a RWD Kei car, it doesn't even need to be that good either, just cheap. Look at the huge boom from drift fans that want ANYTHING RWD, if there's an affordable little RWD from new, they'd sell like hot cakes!

1475mm wide too... Isn't the Kei car regulation limit 1400mm?

According to Wikipedia, the current regulation is the following:

From 1st October 1998
length: 3.4 m (11.2 ft)
width: 1.48 m (4.9 ft)
height: 2 m (6.6 ft)
displacement: 660 cc
max. power: 47 kW (64 PS; 63 hp)

although I doubt this rumor is true, Suzuki isn't that good financially nowadays, Japan also has a financial crisis. I don't think it is the best timing to announce a fun car. Or, if they do announce it, it will surely be JDM only, they won't take that much effort (and money) to homologate to european standards.

They are making a k6a turbo engined rwd Caterham 7, with a projected weight of around 500kg.  It is said to be based on a narrower track than the current superlights and r300, which combined with narrower tyres means it may sneak into the kei rules in Japan. Orders open October I believe. (At least in the UK) Prices start at £17000.

Now if all this was the basis or at least starting point of a new, Suzuki Cappo/Caterham 21, that would be amazing.

That is sick. If i were to do this i would re-engineer a mid mount Rwd Cappo and put the boot at the front xD give it a paddle shift gearbox with a emphasis on cornering ability
