I've only ever seen one other in my life and thats the one for sale in Vancouver. I've seen a website that had a picture of another AZ-1 (All red, regular body style) and the post claimed it was in Canada(Ontario I believe).
BrianV, did you happen to have your door dampers redone? If so, did you get them done by a guy out west here? If thats not the case, The guy I spoke to at the strut place said he has fabricated new door dampers for a guy back east(Ontario), so that would mean that there is another one scooting around out east...
Tough luck about the crank shaft. I'm pleased to hear that you will be picking it up tomorrow tho! Take it for a nice drive, and don't forget to take your camera along!
So in total, thats 4 for sure and possibly 5 or 6 in Canada

You are correct, they were redone by a guy out West. The fella that I imported through handled the details on getting them redone so I don't know exactly where they went, only that they went to BC. |

Are you happy with them? I heard that he had to make you brand new ones. Do the doors open by themselves now or do you still need to help the door up? I ask you this because I'm thinking about taking mine to him in the near future.

They still need help to get up. One of them didn't work at all when I got it back so it got returned. second time it worked the same as the rest.
Overall I'm happy with them the doors didn't stay up at all before
Got the car back today I'm a happy man. |

I have a few pictures up there. I'll add more as I get to em. I'm going to take a few shots of the repairs tonight.
Those wheels were on the car when I got it. Not easy ones to find thats for sure. I have a set of 14's that I'm going to put on, see which I like better. I'll post some shots of those too. |

brian thanks for the pics of your black az don't want anyone to think i made it up. the little dealings i had with "right hand drive" were very good .... michael was the one who told me to use the corvette syncro gear oil with much success on my cappuccino (although no one seems to be interested)
any thoughts on getting a KEI car club or meet going in southern ontario ?

Ed - tell me more about the Corvette syncro gear oil. Do you use it only in your differential? What are you using in your transmission? Enquiring minds want to know! |

We Need a Kei Car Club in Southern Ontario for sure and a meet or two would be awesome! I must say Michael is Awesome. He's gone over and above anything I could have hoped for when my AZ-1 died. Can't recommend them enough. |

to ross the corvette syncro fluid i use only in the tranny use the regular 75w90 synthetic stuff in the differential
my 2nd gear was awful till i tried this stuff after experimenting with other possible fluids.
although not perfect ... still a bit notchy i can slide into any gear quite easily now including first on the roll.
i was going to redo the tranny before i tried this stuff ... so 6000 km later the tranny still feels and shifts 100 per cent better
if you want the details and you have a shifting problem ... i can tell you what to do directly by email
ed
brian .... your turn let me think about setting something up and getting it going ....
did a meet / club get together for my jensen interceptor here in toronto (it's a car) and it was a lot of work for some pats on the back ...
will need some help ..... are you game to donate your time ?

ross the stuff you want is at your local chevy dealer ... phone their parts first and see is they have corvette syncromesh fluid with friction additives. there are two kinds .... with and without friction additives
it comes now with a delco label (stuck over top of the gm label)
unfortunately comes in 1 litre bottles but you need slightly more than 1 bottle
each bottle is about $18 bucks
installation is a real snap ....suspect the same is true of the az.
hope this helps .... would also suggest you google this stuff if you want to feel real comfortable ... i did and i am pleased as punch.
thanks ed |

I'll have to look into that syncro oil thing too. Thanks for mentioning it! My second gear always feels a little clunky.
As for a meet / club yeah I agree it would be alot of work and for at least the next month I have no extra time. There is a small car show being organized in Cambridge atm for August the 28th. I'm Probably going to be able to bring my car to that one.

That sounds good to me. I'm dropping a friend off at the airport. Her plane leaves at 11:15am. I'll be driving my other car (Pontiac Wave hehe) so I'll have to head back to kitchener to get the AZ then head to Cambridge. We can work out the details whenever though. |

Well I truly don' t know how many there are but I've become aware of Red one in London Purple in Sask Silver in Ottawa Red in Montreal Red in Vancouver Red in Toronto Silver in Toronto Silver in Edmonton
Those are only ones who have logged on this site, or who have advertised their vehicle for sale on Kijiji. One, could show up more than once, but we could start an informal tracking or registry. There is still a red one forsale in Van, but I know there is a club cappo member who has offered to help me when I buy and ship one from Japan. Not happening this year by the way. Too many foolish things happening in my life currently.
We should start a new thread in Canadian owners and perhaps track "known" Cannuck Cappos. |

BTW, I helped Craig Pollock with his website - and I'm doing up a "shopping in Japan" extension for it (peruse items for sale or auction that he's look at).
