I thought perhaps we should have a listing for parts available in Canada. Of course we can buy everything from eBay UK or Yahoo! Japan, but if there are things available at Canadian Tire, etc... then why not make things easier?

For example, which oil filter(s) is everyone using? My car came with a K&N version, but I haven't looked to see which one it is, and I haven't changed my oil yet.

I'm using the suzuki OEM one, I'm almost sure you can still purchase them at local Suzuki dealers, as the Arctic cat quads/snowmobiles use a slightly modified F6A/K6A? engine.

here is a link to the swap:
http://www.clubcappo.co.uk/board/Blah/Blah.cgi?b=Technical,m=1166934911

Parts avaiable in Canada, spark plugs, injectors, wiper blades, ignition leads all that kinds of stuff can be sourced out here in Canada. Until you get into finer engine components and body parts.

That's good to know, Blair. I'll go down to the Arctic Cat dealer tomorrow and ask about oil filters.

Do I assume then that the plugs/wires/injectors etc... are also the same as the Arctic Cat versions?

Sean - I think that for brake pads, I would probably just get them from eBay UK or Yahoo! Japan. I know that everything for my Figaro comes out of the UK now.

Probably a dumb question, but what the hell: I am assuming that brake pads/rotors are the same as Cappuccino versions?

From what I understand the arctic cat 660t uses a k6a engine from the later model cappos. Although very similar in layout and size, there is not much compatible with an f6a.

The injectors will not be the same as in an az-1. From memory they are a larger size, plus a different impedance. You could always attempt an k6a transplant into an az-1 That arctic cat engine is a monster Jonap on this site has one in his cappo.

You will be able to use generic wiper blades and lengths of spark leads available at any friendly auto parts store. Just take them in and match them up.

As for brake pads, I bought mine from http://www.camskill.co.uk You could also try here: http://tinyurl.com/2e8rjkx The fronts are proprietary to the az-1, and are part no dp1301. The rears are compatible with a number of cars, including some 90's hyundais and various nissans. They have a part number dp528. If you are after an upgraded compound, probably yahoo japan would be a good bet. Some of the "endless" products are amazing from what I hear. I'll have to check, but I think the discs are the same as what is on a nissan u13. Best give a brake store the measurements and they will be able to match something. I'm pretty sure the cappo discs are different but I'm happy to be told otherwise

I use a ryco z443 oil filter. I'm guessing ac delco (GM) filters would be much more available in canada, and these have a part number ac078. From memory they are the same filter as in a 90's daihatsu 1.3 charade or applause.

Do you guys know if the suspension on the AZ-1 is the same as anything else out here in north america? I want to find some coilovers and wouldn't mind finding them out here rather then bring them in from Japan.

Looks like I'm going to need a new throttle position sensor. Any idea if anything local can go in there or do I have to try and find one some how from Japan?

If anyone needs parts for your car, Message soldave I just recently sent him 2200$ for my engine rebuild via paypal to buy parts in japan and ship them to Canada, as parts for our cars are still available from Suzuki dealers over seas also aftermarket is easyier to get ahold of.

He's british and has lived in japan for 5 years so he speaks english and knows his way around the Suzuki's. I had nothing but a pleasant experience dealing with him. He also marked the value lower so I payed next to nothing in customs.

Here is a pic of some of the parts from my rebuild I received from him(some genuine suzuki parts, and aftermarket halfway pistons):

Thanks for the heads-up, Blair. You have quite the Suzuki collection going! One of these days I'll have to drive the AZ-1 up to Edmonton just so we can have a good laugh together.

For us Canucks, he has a page on the forums here you can post and ask about parts :
Parts by soldave

rossbruinsma, make sure its when my engine is back together! I'd get a hold of the guy who owns the honda beat(lime green), we could put on our own micromachines car show. Yellow Az-1, bright green Beat, purple Cappuccino.

Some of my reading/research has shown that the front brakes (disks and pads) are the same as the Suzuki swift of the same vintage... Oil filter too, apparently.

Back brakes seem to be relatively unique to the cappuccino though.

I'll probably be compiling a list of North American equivalent parts over the next few weeks and will share as I find more out.

My AZ-1 has the F6A engine, and I just put on a Mobil 1 oil filter from Canadian Tire, part # M1-110.

Here's what I'm using:  http://www.framcatalog.com/PartDetailWindow.aspx?b=F&pn=PH4967

...actually, I currently have a Canadian Tire 17-1717-2 on...

Yours is an equivalent to either:

http://www.framcatalog.com/PartDetailWindow.aspx?b=F&pn=PH7317

or

http://www.framcatalog.com/PartDetailWindow.aspx?b=F&pn=PH5343

The cross reference at the bottom is really useful when you bring the car somewhere new...

You can also call or email mini4x4.ca
Thei import kei trucks and have direct link to parts in Japan.

I ordered over 2000$ from them and they offer great service. All you need to do is list the Suzuki part numbers you need.
