Ok, for ages now I've been wanting to spray my car.  It's excessively faded and needs some patchwork done around the arches.  I was getting to the point where I'd become embarrassed to drive it, so I decided to seek some advice from the knowledgeable oracles at ClubCappo!

Keith replied to my post in the wanted section and kindly offered to show me his car, which had been spray painted two years ago by a garage around the corner from where he lives.  Conveniently for me this happens to be just up the road in Watford, and somehow, Keith, using his magical powers, happened to summon every cappo owner in North West London (ok, only 4 of us.... but still, more than 3's a crowd!) along to get together and compare our proverbials!!

So.... last Saturday Mikei, Mohammad, Keith (AKA Bulletproof Kimono) and I all descended on Keith's house in some culdersac (all to the surprise of the unsuspecting neighbours) and assembled our prides and joys in a nice V formation for a group photo!  Hardly a 'club meet' but it certainly made us realise how important and fun getting together and chewing the cud is between like-minded individuals like ourselves!

After a bit of banter and discussing the sizes of each other's pistons we decided to share our passions with the general public and take a convoy drive (certainly the first time i've been out on the road with any other cappuccinos at any one time!)  As you can imagine, we turned many heads and generally disturbed the peace with our (albeit small, but noisy) hacked dumped valves!!!  It was great fun!

We all then headed to Keith's recommended paint shop unannounced (much to the surprise of the Eastern European workforce on site!) to check the place out and get some quotes.  They were really helpful and I must say that Keith's car looks absolutely stunning even two years down the line, so I will definitely be going there early next month to book my car in for a much-needed full paint job!

Thankfully, I'd been so impressed by what I'd seen and I'd already made my mind up to head back there to do the job, so when the workshop mascot, a small Jack Russell-like furball, decided to mark his territory by pissing on my rear wheel it didn't completely put me off returning!  Then, when we were all heading out, a heard of these animals came from nowhere and started circling my car as my car was some kind of idol worship effigy!  It was all I could do not to run over the little buggers!!

Once we managed to safely manoeuvre our way out we all drove back to Keith's.  Mikei had a go in my car and really liked the feel of the coil overs, and we all discussed Mohammad's rising sun bonnet paint scheme, which was done amazingly well for a £40 job!

We all decided that we MUST all do this again (minus the dog piss!) and wanted to extend our invitation to anyone who wanted to join us on our next 'meet', which we thought could be a trip to the Ace Cafe on the A406.  If you're interested, feel free to contact Keith!!

I'll attempt to attach some pictures below (so if they appear, I was successful!) otherwise I'll leave it for Andy to upload!!

All in all, a great day out!  Highly recommend you coming to join us!

Sammy

Be fair Sammy, you can't really be surprised that the dog chose yours to p!ss on?

It took me ten minutes to talk Mikei out of doing the same thing!

Don't worry, it'll all be different next month when it's painted

Anybody else for the next one?

The Shuttleworth Collection is a good place to visit, I pass it on my way to work everyday, past few days there's been the occasional crate in the sky doing circuits, looking like its about to fall out.

Shall we let you know when we're going then so you can join us, as in the face of weapons grade apathy we need all the help we can get

I do hope that somebody can be bothered to organise a bit of a knees-up for lord's 2000th post which can't be too far away

When you have decided on a date get a post written up and I'll make it a sticky and get it up on Facebook too.  Best to give people a fair bit of notice if you want a bigger turn out

Are you guys heading up for the KKITP Annual Meet at the Heritage Motor centre?

Drop me a PM if you would like to be added to the ClubCappo Member Map.  More details can be found here.
We now have an official Facebook group as well as a page! See here

Thanks Andy.

The next "non-specific" meet at the Ace is on the 7th July and we'll be going.

These attract some really interesting cars often owned by the sort of people who have absolutely no interest whatsoever in attending car meetings, which I would have thought made it ideal for Cappuccino owners

It looks as if we might be joined by shonen-angell (the most frequently auto corrected name in the history of forum......hi shining Angela!) and Crazyed whose enthusiasm (he'll probably bring his car from Somerset but if not will come on his motorbike) has resulted in a soon to be announced visit to his preferred venue, Brooklands, where we can play with a real live Concorde.

Before being thrown out.

I don't doubt that several of us will go to the kkitp meet but will have to make sure that Mikei goes in one of his Cappuccinos rather than in any of his breeding colony of Honda Beats

We're thinking of having a Tshirt printed (well actually it's probably just me) which will look a bit like this;

  Cappuccino please....

                      (Picture of car head-on)

                                          ....and make it quick

On the back there will be a rear-on picture of the same car.

Down the left sleeve will be
                                          Suzuki
                                          Cappuccino
                                          Racing
                                          And
                                          Performance

So I'll just order one shall I

I'll have a T-shirt!

Also I was thinking that July 25th or 26th could be a good time to meet as it gives everyone enough notice if they wish to join us??

This sounds interesting. I live in Epping which is not a million miles away. Keep me posted on the next scheduled meet. I have a lot going on at the moment but if I am free, I would like to make an appearance.

Bloody hell, judging by all the amps and speakers you've fitted we should be able to hear you once you get on the M25.

Haha. Yes. I didn't mention that. I have been competing in car audio competitions recently so that takes up a lot of my time. Constantly building custom speaker enclosures and trying to make it sound the best. I've won a few trophies, so I must be doing something right. I have installed quite a bit more since those photos were taken. You are more than welcome to have a demo if we do meet.

Jungleaddict dear heart, what's all this "if" 5h!t !!

You've got to come! It's the Law!

Why only this very morning Mikei and I, using an extremely rudimentary Cappo Detector that he'd made out of a transistor radio, microwave oven and some clips out of his very own bra, tracked down shonen-angell (henceforward known as Steve) to his elegant if slightly damp houseboat on the RiverThames where he operates a discreet and elegant Sado-Masochist service specialising in M.P.s and minor Royalty.

We found him and Bernie Eccleston on the poop-deck (draw your own conclusions ) eating free-range alfalfa sprouts and sipping elderflower tea which had been enlivened by a slug of gin and a stick of celery

We quickly had Bernie over the side and Stephen trussed (which he seemed to quite enjoy) using some handy sea-faring type rope and a lifebelt off the Royal Yacht Brittania and before he knew what was happening he was being force-fed bacon sandwiches wherelse but at the Ace cafe.

Now if you wish to avoid something similar (although probably involving speaker cable and     erm     well I can't think of anything but that doesn't mean I won't) you should do the sensible thing and just surrender to the inevitable.

If Crazyed can come all the way from Somerset for reasons that have nothing to do with what can be done with a combine harvester, half a hundredweight of swede and a muck-spreader then you could manage nipping from Epping.

You know it makes sense.

Don't think we won't get to all of you in time.    Mwahhahahahahaha.

Hmmmm..... Swanseagemma.......

Mikei, fire-up the detector, we're going to Wales.
