as you will see, there isn't a lot of sanding to be done now and if you were to use this as a Mold.....you would apply body filler to these areas and sand them smooth, apply a coat of Spray Putty, Finishing Putty, sand smooth, apply Primer and your done...ready to make another...The exact same size as the Parcel Shelf, which means, you wouldn't need the 3 pieces in there.....

You need to sand these areas very flat and smooth...resin would've seeped through and these need to be flat.

I think you can just make out the small blemishes on the underside...sand 'em smooth.

I should point out, just in case it's not obvious, that, if you at any stage, need to ADD more Matting....DO NOT APPLY IT TO THE SMOOTH UNDER SIDE.....this needs to sit flat in the Parcel Shelf.

From the rear......Check back soon as I start to Make and assemble the the rest...Hopefully it will all go as smooth as this so far...???

I will make Crisps' Idea first and see how we go, before I dismantle the bits and make another 'Speaker Enclosure'.....

Just a thought, but, If anyone is interested in Buying either version of this when It's finished, Let me know....before I put them on Ebay....

Just a thought I think I'd missed, Sneaza, as yyou pointed out the size of the "bass bin" required, perhaps then it'd be easier for this to replace the box/box with just 2x sides to give the volume needed as the parcel shelf isn't exactly very deep, is it?

I really ought to go up the loft and look & measure my orginal cappo shelf to myself a better idea of size & perspective?

Quoted from Badger, posted Tuesday, June 24th, 2008, 4:56:18am at here
My concern right now is what SIZE Sub were you thinking of installing...???, reason, 8"=200mm dia, with, according to CG's measurement, a 7 1/2" Basket....so basically need a space of 200mm square just to mount the Sub.

I presume thats 200x200x200mm ?

"aquadhere"  ???  Glue?

LOL....Yes, PVA Wood Glue ( Brand Name ), as for the size, Dia. of Speaker x Depth of Speaker. Have to work out enclosure to go around this.
It will be a 'Stand Alone Unit' that can be removed if needed, without destroying the rest of the enclosure.....though this will mean that the Storage will be 'Glove Box' size width...???, but we'll see.
Have to decide easiest way...MDF or Fibreglass or Combination of both...???.

I've LOTS of MDF - not sure if it's 15mm or 18mmm, though.

I can't think too much on this for a couple of days as I've got some promo design work to do for a do that's coming up, but I'll be watching & reading & making notes

Thanx Cg, making this next bit is going to be very interesting, and hopefully, satisfying.
Now, as I don't have an 8" sub, this is all trial and error, BTW Cg, can you tell me the exact size of Magnet on your 8" sub...???, (not sure if all subs are same) and what the recommended Mounting Depth is, this will make a difference as to how it's mounted within the enclosure...face up or down, front facing or rear... don't think it will affect the sound either way, but I could be wrong...???.

The measurements are on this page Sneaza
(with schematic)

http://images.google.com.au/im.....%3Den%26sa%3DN  Sorry, need to click on '8W7' on the left hand side of the screen.

Almost all subs will be different sizes for magnets and baskets (and volume). Subs can be inverted (sometimes to show off the magnet!) but this sub is too heavy to invert I think

That's quite a large box according to those specs, compared to the space in a cappo, anyhow.

Fortunately, now I've seen the link...thanx CG, It doesn't have to be as extreme as Capgun's, as the 'Lower Volume Models' have different sizes, which is what I was hoping for......Now for the next bit.

Test fit into the F/G Shelf....it should be TOO BIG....as it was tarced from the Original, we now have to Cut off an amount to get the desired fit....this is NOT CRITICAL, just traced the outline of the MDF by approx. 10mm
