As I have said earlier, I intend to re-use the Parcel Shelf to make another Sub Enclosure...No.3, that is the reason for making these pieces as SEPERATE UNITS, which can be removed from the Parcel Shelf if you want more space again.

A lot of extra work, not really needed, but it will save me time when I 'Convert' it later.
This should give some idea of what comes next....Sitting on top of Sub Enclosure.

Different angle.....This will now be cut into 3 sections to form the fronts of each Storage Unit and the Sub Enclosure. The Storage units will sit a little further out than this but not as far as the Sub Enclosure..........Getting closer....

must admit even I've wonder WFT is going on at some points    though I think my brain is back on track now?

Oly, I think what Sneaza is aiming for is that the areas of the shelf behind the seats (the left & right sections) sit fairly flush with the original so the seats (for those with abnormally long legs) can still go all the way back, but the sub enclosure part (the middle bit) will stick out further forward over the center console?
ie. chopping the new bit into 3 (left+right=equal then middle different size for sub enclosure).

Thus giving it a more 3-dimensional feel.

Am I right?

I Too agree with you Crisp.......this is really making the 'ole Grey Matter work. Because I'm 'Making it up' as I go along, a bit of 'Trial and Error' is expected, thus, some things I have thought of and tried, didn't work to my satisfaction, so were scrapped....no need to show them here.

Now, on with the Show......

Masking up the sides. Place the MDF Pieces on the INSIDE of the Texta Line, but make sure it is Right on the 'Outer Edge'.....this way, it will give a bit of clearance but still a nice tight fit. Attach MDF Strips as before to hold in place, add Seperater to inside....to keep the Rear Parrallel.

The reason I put the unit on it's back, because, until it actually 'Goes Off'....the spray foam will SAG and run off.......Here I turned it over just a bit to soon, but it's okay now.
Just have to wait till tomorrow before I can sand it back to the desired shape, REMOVE the Card, and apply the Foil and Fibreglass........

You've got me well bemused now with the PolyURethane (PUR) foam, Sneaza
You're gonna cut it and shape it aren't you?

That's the beauty of PUR to get it to set quicker / harder just add a little water

Interestingly, PUR was originally used to make billiard balls, probably for our forces Officers Mess / East India Company, lol, because of (a shortage of selfish hefalumps    willing to give their lives for the sport) the then rising cost of ivory. I think there was as was often the case then, a reward/incentive/competition ££££ to the best replacement.

Interesting fact that Crisp......it really is a Brilliant invention.

Now, the reason for using this is, quite simply the quickest way to 'Fill' an Irregular shape and void. I was going to use the 'Green Foam' that I normally use to get my shapes....re: Gauge Holder and soon to be produced, Dashboard and Dash Top Gauge Holder.....thanx Grant4561, anyway, that would've taken more time to glue and block the weird shape required, so.........yes it will be shaped as I progress....keep watching.

With the Card removed, sand down the sides until they are 'Flush' with the Tape....

Bought some of this yesterday, thought I'd give it a go.....seems to be what the Professionals do...???, Bastard of a job, cut lengths of Alfoil and Spray the entire area of the Tape. When Tacky, carefully start at the Front edge and with a Paint Brush, brush the Foil into place....this, like the fibreglass, won't need cutting....just brush it onto itself.

Passenger Side.....not as bad as I first anticipated, and as you can see, it needs to be brushed down so as no Air Bubbles and the reason for the critical clean. If any foam was caught under neath you would end up with a horrible lump and a mess trying to rectify the problem........ . This is smooth enough

Drivers Side.....as you can see, the foam makes an excellent side wall, which May or may not be needed as I progress...???, just depends what I think of as I'm plodding through this build....... .

It may have crossed your minds about how this is all going to 'Stay in Place' , well I've been thinking of how to address this since I started and up until today, thought it was going to cause me a problem......you see, I don't want to see any Bolts/Screws/Brackets when I'm finished, just the High Gloss Paint like a Factory Finish.

Had a Brain Breakthrough  and, if it works, will apply towards the end of this.....can't wait.

I know this info may be a bit late, but. . .  your "corrugated plastic sheet" is called corflute and is used for making real estate 'For Sale' signs.
(Disclaimer: Don't get caught 'borrowing' someone's sale sign)
