Could anyone describe how to remove a door mirror.

I have the inner door skin off and it doesn't look like an easy task - maybe a full dismantle of the window mechanism ? Or does that upper cover on the mirror mount pop off and access fixings from the outside (hopeful)

It's the smaller lower cover under the mirror that comes off to reveal two scews. The plastic can be a little stubborn or even brittle so I'd recommend pouring some really hot water over it to soften it up a little. You should be then able to squeeze the plastic to pop the cover off

Thanks Andy, But you refer to the smaller cover ?
See photo - do mean the lower larger cover (2) ?
This one feels plastic and the upper smaller one (1) feels solid

Larger cover number two. As Andy says pour some warm water on it. I find putting an old credit card or similar in the joint and gently prising open helps. Put the card in just below the arrow on number one. Do that on both sides of the mirror cover.
