Just thought I would make a thread about the other cars which members here have owned Pictures would be a bonus but not absolutely necessary. I'll start off, my first car was a LC torana (which was based on a vauxhall viva), 2nd car was a LJ 2door torana with a mild 6, third car was a datsun sunny with it's potent (?) 1.2 litre engine and top speed of about 50 mph! 4th car was an LH torana sedan, 5th car was my LX Torana A9X sedan with a 400hp 5litre v8 , 6th car was the LX Torana Hatch which I still have and now my little capp too!

The capp has been the most fun to drive even if it isn't as powerful as most of the other cars I've owned!

My Hatch

My LJ coupe

My A9X sedan

The only other car I've owned:

It was a ripsnorting 60hp 1.2-litre beast Was a nice first car though, had electric everything, decent CD player etc.

Here's a blast from the past

TR7 with those pesky pop up lights that kept causing hassles.

Despite the slagging off TR7s usually get from the purists it was a fun car to drive in a straight line flat out.

Not so hot on bends though!!!

My other current car is a Subaru Legacy GTB - the twin turbo version with 280 bhp.. Great car... amazing performance but boy is it thirsty..

My wife has a Clio 1.2 16v.. Oh and we also have a Fiesta Mk2 XR2 in racing trim

Previous cars I've loved include the highly underated Fiat Tipo 2.0 ie... basically an Alfa engine and running gear.. best brakes on any car I've ever had.. Went like a bat out of hell until a brand new timing belt snapped and destroyed the head and a piston.... I rebuilt it and sold it quickly...

MG Midge 1500 : roundabouts here we come!
Citroen 2CV6 Charleston  : don't knock it till you've tried it! 657cc and faster than an old Beetle of the grid    !
^--- actually 2 these weren't actually mine officially, but I borrowed them 90% of the time, so they sort of count.

Talbot Solara 1.6 LS? Series II  'Y'reg <-- First car I actually bought in 1991 . 1.5tonne - try bump starting that on your own! Faster than the equivalent Escort, despite the book saying 28s to 60 and it being twice the weight, but I think the twin Webbers maybe helped a little? Had it 9mths and sold it to a mate of my dads for slightly more than I bought it for and it still had under 35000miles on the clock at over 9yr old. Like the Cappo it suffered greatly from the steel weevil.

Vauxhall Nova 1.4SR. Had this from 2yr old. Great fun. Held the road like glue and went where it was told. Had it for 4/5 years till I got the MR2.

Toyota MR2 mk1 1.6 16v twin cam for 1year 1996/1997. Fast as f-k! (faster than some mk2's) Tempermental rear end. - dodgy dealer screwed me on some jobs including rear suspension   to make it even worse. Just got it running very nicely when the OH decided to drop a sprogg so had to get rid      . og course getting rid also meant I kept my license a little longer as well.

Citroen AX 1997 for maybe 3mths<-- extremely forgetful. Wouldn't touch another with a yours.

Ford Excort 1.4LX 1992. Good little runner. Performance wasn't exactly great    . Some woman kindly jumped her clutch at the lights as I was coming through and totalled it front on.

Daewoo Nexia 1.5GLX 16v salloon N1996  Not bad, and far better than the bad rep it had. Not that fast for a 16v, but sturdy. Bad bits: getting some parts and the ski chute was too short when I went ot the wood yard.

Peugeot 306 1.4LX (8v?) 1999. Current 'Winter' Car. OH made me get rid of the Nexia saying it was too big   for her to drive. Had this for about 3yrs. I made the mistake of putting cheap tyres on it, and my appreciation of this car went downhill faster than a Jumbo jet with engine failure. Solid workhorse of a car, but unthrilling in every aspect.

Ford Mondeo 2.0 GhiaX 1996 - actually the OHs, not mine. Full leather interior and wood (or wood like?) dash - a lot better inside than out! Give me the Cappo anyday!

Suzuki Cappuccino - excellent little Pocket Rocket. Shame it's not as fast as the MR2, but handles awesome, and I love it!

Other cars driven :
Citroen BX 1980's 1.7D & 1.9D - okay, but not brill. Dig the adjustable suspension!
Citroen C15D van - refuse to comment further.
Diahatsu Fourtrack - comfy but I prefer to drive a car rather than a turbo'd tractor!
Honda Accord 1.8 (VTec) - best large car I've ever driven! (Bear in mind I don't like large cars) Goes where you point it and that 127BHP drives nice: My favourite all time rental    .
Laguna& Primera - worst cars apart from the AX & Starlet I've EVER driven.
Toyota Starlet 1996 - actually worse than the AX - abysmal.
Seat Ibiza 1.9D - very frugal on the old juice. Not bad little car.
Daewoo Matiz - very surprising and capable little thing and cheap to rent.
Honda Civic mid/late 90's version, 1.5VTEC(E?). Ran on the vapours rather than the actual petrol - most economical car ever if driven like a grandad. Very wallowy around corners, made me feel unsafe - not a patch on the Accord.
Ford Fiesta LX 1.25 16v Zetec. Mid 90's model? Very nippy little thing indeed. Bit wallowy around the corners. The slightly later 'Zetec model' rather than an 'LX' with a Zetec engine has sports suspension, so should be better? Only driven once on a test drive, but needed something with a bigger boot so didn't buy it.
Renault Clio 1.2RN 8v Second favourite hire car. Sure footed, though not particularly nippy, it was acceptable.
