Been out driving during the daylight hours again - yes I'm nearly Beetroot-head-man again - this time nearer Bears way between the A52 / A46 / A1 and at one point through Newark.
Got this lovely piccy looking back over the Vale of Belvoir (about halfway between us and the Bears?) from I think some dead lane near Allington maybe, not sure as I was lost at the time.
Found this nice empty lane which a grand view. It was empty for a reason. Got talking to this old bloke walking his dog and he didn't recommend carrying on up this particular 'road'. He said he tried it once in a 4x4 and it was hard going in that ne'er mind my little baby. Not sure if this is what used to be Bottesford Rd / Sewstern Lane?
You can just make out Belviour Castle in the background.
When I got back, after some lunch, I took a few macros :

Dean, was it you who said you might be going to Harlaxton Manor for a wedding soon ? THis one I took tronight from the {closed} main gates.
And here's a close up.
What we need, Dean, is closeup with your Cappo parked in front of the main doors .
These next ones I got not long before and are of Beloir Castle which isn't far away, taken just outside the village, by the roadside.
The Spooky version, lol.

I've had to empty my card several times today becuase I had to borrow the kids spare cards which only hold 26 pics on my camera, as my three (ttl 2.5Gb) are full waiting to go and get developed - still!

Old Barne is that Marston, just North of Grantham?
Could it be Allington not Arlington, then?
That's where I was this aft as it happens, well, the village - the first piccy above was taken about a mile away.
Not heard of a Manor near there, though that doesn't mean owt, lol, but there's a lot of old houses and old court yards through archeways and lots of horses (not counting the ponies as you approach Balders *cough* ).
Dean - PM'd yah!
You gotta get piccies of your Cappo in front of that Manor , where ever it is, lol, it's gotta look sound with a red Cappo in front of it!
Harlaxton Manor is owned by Yanks as a Uni Campus. I hope we're getting an Indian Summer this year - God knows we deserve it after all this rain! I'm thinking I wonder if I can blagg it, a quick photo shoot (after hols etc) maybe get in there for one red and one silver Cappo (or more? ) . Now who (*cough*Bears*cough*) do we know not far away with a red Cappo and a better (not hard is it?) camera than I?

Not that hard, Dean, once you get used to it that is ,lol.
1) get pic inside PC. 2) open your image / photo editor. 3) Crop if needs be by selecting the area you want then goto edit menu then crop. 4) resize the pic to about 500 width 5) Goto the 'file' menu and select 'save as' - Choose JPEG or JPG as the file format - If theree's an 'options' button or 'advanced' then use this and set the 'compression' to between 25% and 35% - If there's the option of 'progresive' encoding as it loads better in a web page than the 'standard' type you use for everything else.
All this ensures the file size is small enough to fit on the page and those without broadband aren't having to wait too long to see it. THere are two ways to do the next bit, which is uploading to the web.
1) Easiest option is to do this, but not recommend for a lot of stuff as it eats into Andys bandwidth as he is technically now the 'host'. Start a thread on here and click on the 'more post options' and use the 'attach' box at the bottom to select the file from your harddrive.
2) Best option is to 'host' it independantly by using something like Photobucket (PB), or using an 'FTPClient' programme to upload it to the webspace given to you by your internet provider. You then post a BB-code(?) link to tell this site to look to the host site for the piccy you want. If you use a site like PB then they provide you with the links and you just need to copy and paste them across.

The D50 is a very nice camera - a bit better than mine, lol.
Just got a Fujifilm S5700.
I think it was a bargain at only £160 in Jessops sale. With 7.1Mp and a 10x zoom it couldn't be better for the dosh.
Just the right balance between compact and SLR.
The older one is a Praktica DCZ7.1 - again 7.1Mp but only a 3x zoom, but small enough to fit in my pocket *gets slapped round ear'ole* erhm sorry her pocket (now).

Cheers "Boss" .
I thought since it had £110 off their normal price and it was still £40 cheaper than the one in Tescos it was a good bargain?
Either way it's still a good camera.
Another firned of mine has been egging me on for a whiler to get a better camera, only they wanted me to get the S7000 instead.

Yeah, spying that rat was a million in one chance -and he was so cheeky as well, lol.
Naturally one of my photographic mentors told me off for using too much zoom it on it - you just can't win with some folk, can you?
I've still got loads more to go on, doubt now it'll get done this weekend as I'm rather busy. The next job is to sort out the ones of the dragonflies and damselflies - hopefully I'll find some in focus, lol.
Taking the shots of those deer was sooooo easy it felt like cheating as we were just sat in this old army truck with them milling around us.

I'm a perfectionist in a morons body - I'm rarely happy about owt, lol.
Then again, I'm happy some have turned out as bad as they have as they could have been (and some were) a LOT worse : others are just stunning.

The ones on the barbed wire were actually taken with my old cheap camera, lol, which does excellent macros, but I've not the hang of that on the new camera yet as the standard Macro setting is different to the other cameras I've used so I have trouble focussing.
The new camera however does have a second 'super macro' function which works best at just a few inches away from the target.
For example, these toadies were only about the size of a 10pence peice each, if that and taken only a few inches away.

Yeah it's odd as I can sometimes get better pics from my old camera too even though the newer one should be a lot better.

You like infestations of flies then, Jaik?
Personally I'd take our British spids any day over hoards of flies!
Aussie spids are a far different matter! Why would something as small as Black Widow ever want to eat a whole human?
