After my Cappo got trashed its been a bit of motivation to get this ECU mapping service up and running. Maybe if enough of you are interested then it will help me fix up my Cappo to her former glory, lol.

Anyway i'm thinking of selling off my original modified ECU to get the venture underway. What i prepose is that the person interested comes to collect it off me in person in there cappo. Ill swap it over and let you take it for a test drive and if your happy with the performance increase you can purchase it off me.

The ECU is mapped to an N1 spec. It uses fuel maps and ignition advance maps catered for performance rather than keeping the cappo engine to the 64BHP limit they need to comply with in Japan. The ECU also has the speed removed and increased rev and boost limit removed. This ECU honestly does give the cappo a new lease of life with there being more low down torque and the engine feeling like it pulls pretty much up to redline with the increased BHP.

Cappo Sport are selling the N1 for £780 with VAT and currently are out of stock.

Ill do a remapped ECU to the N1 spec at a fraction of that, £350 with your old ecu in exchange so i then have the next ecu to modify for the next customer.

How does that sound? if your interested in the first one let me know. Also if you would like one in the future post something on this page and ill do it on a first come first serve basis.

Sounds like just the sort of thing UHU could do with - put me on the list. I'm tied up every weekend till the middle of January though, so don't wait for me if you get another customer.

I don't fancy driving to Wiltshire either but I am interested and I could post before and after dyno graphs to show what difference there is.

Am I right in thinking it uses a daughter-board with an EPROM instead of the factory micro-controller? If so, that would enable bespoke mapping on the dyno to suit a specific car's modifications. That would make it a better solution than an N1 or N2, for those wanting the best performance possible, without the hassle and cost of fitting an aftermarket system.

As Sneaza told it is a bit difficult for me to get my Cappuccino to you, but I´m also interested. How much would postage be to Stuttgart, Germany?

Is it an exact "copy" of N1 spec? Is it just replacing the original ECU (of course also using other spark plugs)?

I´ll post your offer on german Cappuccino Club page, as some of us are interested in going N1

Has anything happened about this yet?  Anyone fitted one?  Is there a back log of orders?

Last I spoke with MMD we were going to meet up at some time and do some dyno testing with my car as a 'test mule'.

I could also alter the software to suit specific mods, thus making it better than an N1 in that it can be further tweaked to best suit the engine, rather than being fixed to N1 spec.

I hope to use one on my road car, if we ever meet up and actually do it.

Ezra has one for sale, I just noticed.....

Thanks for that info Wayne.  I was surprised to learn that the ECU is configurable.  This is certainly a big plus.  Did MMD supply the software to do it?  How do you connect to it to do the changes?  This makes me even keener to get one.  If MMD reads this  - when can I buy one?

You take the EPROM out and emulate it, like you would with most road car ECUs... it's not like a motorsport system that uses RAM, software and a cable.

Far be it from me to cough on your marshmallows, but since the OP on 3rd December 2009 ( that's two thousand and NINE) the only further mentions come from the keyboards of the terminally hopeful.

But you never know....
