I've been loking around for a set of forged, 67mm (698cc) pistons for my AZ-1. The best ones I can find are these http://www.racetep.com/JE.html
Unfortunately the minimum order is 4 so I was thinking of buying 6 if anyone else on here fancies a set? They take 3-4 weeks to get made + another week to ship.

The spec I'm going for is:
67mm bore
std. compression ratio
High Heat Ceramic Coated crowns and Moly coated skirts
Total-Seal Gapless 2nd rings
(I reckon that'll take some serious boost )

A set of 3 will cost $650 (£409) + whatever P&P, import duty (they mark the value down), and any other payment surcharge they can come up with, but they should still come in at around £500 for the set

Anyone interested in coming in with me on this? - if not I'll just order 4 and have a spare. I need to get the order in by friday as I'm off on holiday and want to get the order in before I go.

Forgot to mention this:
I've also found a 67mm x 1.7mm thick metal, head gasket, from japan, that should work perfectly with these - about £210 on my doorstep

Mmm that's very tempting... but I would have preferred bigger bore, like 740cc...

When you talk about serious boost, do you know how much you're talking about ?
And do you think the conrods will take it ?

Edit: I just read a bit of their website, and these pistons seems very nice !

^My main reason for going for 67mm is the availability of a reasonabley priced, off the shelf, head gasket - they make 69mm (730cc) ones for the SOHC F6A but I haven't been able to find one for the DOHC. If you can find a suitable head gasket at a decent price I'll go for whatever bore that'll fit

As for boost - I know the bottom end is good for 1.5 bar, I'll let you know how much more when something breaks

I might be interested... the difference between 730cc and 698cc shouldn't be big in terms of power.
Who makes / sells the headgasket you found by the way ?

Pistons finally arrived today after being suck in customs at Heathrow for nearly 4 weeks

Total cost for 3 pistons and a head gasket came to just under £700 - not a bad deal at all

I can %100 reccomend TopEnd Racing but I'd try and find an alternative to Noppin for the head gasket (maybe soldave?) - their fees are extortionate!!!

Just need to get Ricou's 1/2 of the order packed up and sent to France now.

Try Jesse Streeter for parts via Rakuten (e.g. head gasket above) he also does Yahoo Auctions and can get some stuff wholesale.  (Mike TADO has used him a lot)

I certainly need to find a better parts source in japan - I paid more in duty + postage + (noppin) commission for the head gaskets than I paid in duty + postage for the pistons!

I'll try them next time, thanks for the link

Can't wait to get these little pieces of art, open my engine and rebuild it with the pistons.

Wait, this is gonna take a few months... oh well I guess I'll be patient

Thanks Don !
