I think it will stiffen up the body but I haven't tested mine yet as I'm waiting for an engine.

If the brackets are as good as the ones on the bars Steve made then yes it stiffens it up a lot.  The bars will only be as good as the brackets that attach them to the car though.

Have you been in touch with Murph to see if he's got any bars left in stock?  These use Steve's designs so should be up to the job.
