The sale will be held off until I get confirmation from Marc about where the plug might be in my car.

For sale is this subwoofer that was a original accessory. Original unit price back then was Y27,800 which is about £127,-

It's for JDM cappo's. Make sure you have this plug under the passengers seat:

Here you can see it on the left side of the picture:

And here is what you'll be getting. Maybe nice as a late christmas gift

Price: make me an offer and I'm sure we'll work it out

Yes you did, but I first need to wait on Marc's answer..

And I payed around 60,- for the thing to get it from Japan to here. So if I'm selling it I'll be looking for an offer near that amount.

Hi,

I had two of these units. They are a well-made joke. One, they do not fit under the passenger seat and two they do not work. In fact, I had both of the units assessed by Clarion, Australia. They were puzzled with this unit. All the parts were checked and in operating order, however it only produced a low buzzing sound when turned on. This was the case for both of my units.

In fact this accessory only appeared in the early life of the Cappuccino, about 1991 - 1993. Obviously Suzuki learnt it was a dud, as they ceased to list it in later versions of the accessories catalogue. The radio unit continued to be listed right to the end. In all it is a well made unit, that never worked. Only purchase, if you are a collector of Cappuccino accessories etc.

Regards
Nick

But could be true. We'll see

I can understand you saying that, you want to sell it.  I am assuming you have never operated the unit you have for sale? Hence that is why I am telling of my experience with two of these units.

It could well be bad luck on each of my purchases. However, the fact that Clarion, Australia could not understand why both units did not work as per purpose, suggests to me it was simply a flawed unit.

I had no intention of deliberately discrediting your unit. I was simply warning potential buyers of this unit and perhaps saving you from potential embarrassment and a angry buyer. I do hope your unit does work as per purpose.

Regards
Nick

I don't want to sell it. I want it to work in my car

If I can't use it, due to the plug not being there, then I'd like to sell it. But I don't want to sell something that doesn't work, obviously..

And to say that mine doesn't work because two of yours haven't in the past is a little short sighted in my opinion. So again: we'll see

Suzuki Australia don't know much about Cappuccinos so it's not that strange that the Clarion techs don't know a lot about these small units that weren't released here either...

It probably is a bit of a flawed design but you could probably retrofit something more reliable inside the case.

If both unit only buzzed in your car and Clarion passed them, maybe there is something wrong with the outputs on your radio (or the wiring between the units SUZUKIGEEK)

Yes, I agree Capgun . There maybe something wrong with my radio outputs. I know next to nothing about sound equipment, that is why I got Clarion, Australia involved.

Hey Ezra, I did not say your unit will not work, rather will it work as per purpose?. No need to distort my comments now. Good luck with it anyway.

Oh, my mistake. Must've misunderstood:

"I had two of these units. They are a well-made joke. ... they do not work."
My interpretation was that you had them. In general are a well-made joke. And do not work.

If you replaced "are" and "do" with "were" and "didn't" I wouldn't have been confused. Or maybe it's just my English that's not sufficient..

I am however, in light of recent events, curious if this thing is gonna work. And if: how!

If you post me a really long extension cord  (and leave the other end at your house) I can try it on my 'cino here in Oz!

Best of luck with sale!

Could be worth checking the VIN on the car with the connector (Kei's car?)  - I would guess it's EA11R-10XXXX or 11XXXX, whereas Ezra's car is EA11R-12XXXX (After August '93).

Maybe the connector was deleted on later (after August '93) cars.

Hmh, you might be on to something.

If you read this, and you have this plug, can you tell us which year your cappo is from?
