New doortrim - almost finished - more of the metal bars will be made like the one in the bottom corner for the rest of the doortrim. Trial fitment in these pics (nothing actually lined up!)

Did the rest of the doortrim today Used rivets instead of bolts to hold the aluminium bars on (look better to me!) and recovered the radio facia to hold two ally pipes capable of holding 52mm gauges

Thanks again Andy I hope to do the other side doortrim tommorow and make a start on Sneaza's subbox - I trimmed that once but in wasn't good enough (too many wrinkles) so I will make a few patterns and sew it this time (to match the rest of this interior).

Thanks crisp   I don't know where the idea for the shape of the strips came from but looking at them tonight, they sort of resemble the shape of the middle door handle part!

I started planning my new boot install over the new year I want 'some' of my boot space back! It will still be a showy install but with more space than before. The amps I am using are the mid-nineties xtant M series (before they got bought out and weren't as good!). I spent all day cutting the logo out of 5mm thick ally and filing & sanding them till they looked right. I bought my steering wheel now from the states so it and a few more amps are on their way here from the Uk and America

Went and got some more leather today so I could cover Sneaza's sub box he made - very tricky to make a pattern but I am about 80% done and then I can sikaflex it to the fiberglass - I tried covering it when my interior was black and it didn't 'make the grade' so I am redoing it in this leather to match the interior Just test fitting each line of stitching as I go! More pics when I've finished it and pulled it down tight around the sub enclosure...

As Will said, the alcantara looks tops!

The thing about chrome... it only works in it natural enviroment, surrounded by metal, not plastic

Im more about modifying my car for the performance side of things! and chrome will just add too much unnecessary weight! In saying that you have put a lot of effort in to your car it just really isnt my thing. At the same time though it was makes as all unquie so keep up the good work! \

Thanks Sneaza, Chernobyl, grant and Will - polishing things like the window release reduces weight by shaving a few microns of the surface treatment from it!

Big macs are good for my blood type so I'm healthy!   Also you'd be hard pressed to see any plastic in the interior of my capp now hardly any of the grey plastic isn't covered by leather or metal now Only plases that aren't would be :

Buttons on the Head Unit (Nak CD700) - all the facia and volume knobs are solid metal,
Handles for the seat tilt/release and it's surrounding guard (soon changing),
Handles for the boot release and petol flap (soon changing!).

May as well update a little, got a UCS Pro audio processor on the bay of e over the last few days, I was going to use Audison's 'BitOne' processor but some of my friends in car audio said this was better suited to my needs It can do Time Alignment - digital millisecond delay of each speaker's sound so that even though the speaker distances are not the same, the sound arrives at the same time. Can be hooked up to a laptop to alter settings, a full range crossover for all the speakers and the optional remote for those time I don't want a laptop in the car and a few other things

I bought a few lengths of high quality RCA cable and nice locking-type RCA plugs which I've soldered together to make my own custom RCAs too. They take quite a long time to make due to having four wires that need heatshrinking and terminating at each end

My new processor and remote unit came over the last few days too, very powerful unit able to control pretty much everything I need. It was hard to find - I can connect it up to a laptop if desired to alter all the crossover settings, speaker delay/t/a, phase etc.
