Rest of Smashie once he's been made into one car after the 'cut & shut' will be made into a cappo couch complete with tailight lenses  and the boot lined with chair upholstery.

Smashie got decapitated today! Chopped him in half after stuffing around cutting the last sections which held him together! Next up I need to drill out all the spotwelds on the floorpan and get rid of the scrap still attached to it.

In the photos it looks pretty close-ish but without the dust on the trailer half the two greens are pretty different. One is a solid light green and the other is a metallic green

The trailer half being the metallic I take it?  Have you decided on a colour yet?

Had a lot of thoughts on Smashie today and I think providing I can get the bodywork straight enough then jet black will be the go Grey interior, I have the audio mostly sorted (soundstream Tarantula amplifier, affiliated tweeters and subs but haven't decided on the front speakers yet). Not sure at this stage if he will have polished original wheels (depends on cost!) but motor will probably remain pretty standard but I will replace that timing belt as soon as the car is together!
Thought since it will be black and have a spider chrome theme (see soundstream tarantula on google 'images') I might even have Tarantula as Smashie's number plate - he will be small and black!

I got Smashie's numberplates on Friday. I decided to get Tarantula (TRNTLA) since everything seems to fit in with that interior wise I have the subwoofer grille coming from ebay (looks like the chrome spider below) and I just won one of these from ebay too!

http://www.realmofexcursion.com/ampguts/Soundstream_Tarantula_8802/

Once I get some more ally I will make numberplate frames up that will incorporate a spiderweb in the lower part of the 'T' and upper part of the 'A' (diagonally opposite).
Seeing if I can find a billet steering wheel too

I got rid of the spotwelds on the back of the floorpan today so next up is getting rid of the outer sill on the passenger side and getting ready to superglue him together!

Ah but you should know me by now Sean - ICE leaves me totally cold.

For me - cars are things to enjoy driving (and listening to the engine) - whereas a decent hi-fi in a comfortable room at home is the place to listen to music. Mixing the two is a No-No for me

A simple radio for the news now and then (less and less these days) and somewhere to plug the MP3 player in now and then on a longer trip after I get bored listening to the engine notes is all I need

I know, but cars can be so much more than driving (well to me anyway!). Infinately customisable (is that a word? ) and eough scope and challenge to make things as difficult or hard as wanted/needed. That's one of the reasons I like ICE , usually a challenge in something as small as a capp and you can be creative (I like to keep a general theme through the car if customising it).

I can see that CG but PERSONALLY I don't share the enthusiasm for ICE.

I LOVE what you do and would rave over your car if I could actually see it in the metal - but I'd never get very animated about ICE I'm afraid - but that's just me -

All power to ya mate - keep doing what you do so well

ps how's that sofa coming along?

I've been very lazy
Getting up at 3pm and going to sleep at 5am! There's a bit of a stumbling block in Smashie too - one of the ribs in the floorpan has been kinked 90degrees into the air when it hit the house. It's totally straight but the kink starts at the front of the footwell and goes to the back of the seat. I have been thinking about how to get it flat again - either buy a pneumatic ram to push it out again (work in short bursts along the floorpan) or do the same thing with a couple of scissor jacks (might be the preferred option atm sinse the rams cost about $300!).

Was thinking that yesterday but haven't looked into availbility yet
I did some interior work to Smashie this afternoon - this going to be part of the interior theme - grey flocking... Got 10 ounces from ebay and got to work on the doors - I think it looks nice - maybe with satin or brushed metal finish for surrounding handles - maybe I'll make them up and get them anodized
