I decided to have a bit of a play with the camera this evening since the weather's so nice. It turns out I'm really not much of a photographer (no surprises there) but I liked a few that I took...

Given the right setting they would look even better.  The 2nd one looks great and had the two cars in the background been nicer in the first (perhaps a couple of other MR2s like a Mk1 and a Mk2) then it would be a really good pic.

Drop me a PM if you would like to be added to the ClubCappo Member Map.  More details can be found here.

The center of pics is quite bright so this is where the camera takes it's measurements from?

Try focusing on a darker area of the car, only half way depress the button and hold it there - this takes a lot of practise with some cameras being far easier than others.
Move the camera to get the shot in square and now fully depress the button.

Crisp, I was actually fiddling round with HDR imagery I was bracketing the exposure and have done a lot of fiddling round on the computer afterwards. It's the first time I've tried it so I'm certain I could get much better results even with the photos I've taken which aren't fantastic to start with.

I'm quite happy with the first one, but as you said Andy, the cars in the background do spoil it. I need to go to the Trafford Centre at some point. Park in the under-cover car park and hang around until as late as possible, they close that car park relatively early so it empties out. The lighting would make for some great photos.
