Although it's nothing like some of the Cappo projects on this forum i thought i'd post some pics of whats being done to my lil rocket.

Firstly the repairs, chassis rot in the rear passenger arch.  My mechanic mate did this repair to show me how it done.

Then there was the rot on the front strut mounts, which i grinded out and welded in a 2m thick plate and then smoothed thedges with filler and painted in Hamerite.

The camera and mount, it's hard to see but it's a simplebullet cam in a simple aly pipe clip, the original cam mount is still fixed to the rear of the cam, i'll remove it later when i can be arsed    To make it a snug fit there's some white card wrappped round the cam.

One other repair made to just in front of the rear drivers side arch, it's not that pretty but it will be covered by skirts eventually.

The reason it's looking sorry, engine closest to camera is my original and the one on the hoist is my first replacement which has developed a water leak on the core plug

And the reason for it, the shocks had got a little grubby and i couldn't adjust the height at the last trackday.

The turbo, the side that connects to the cat pip.  This turbo has only seen about 10,000 miles was reconditioned at 1,500 miles due to crap in the oil, you can see a crack coming from the wastegate. I assume this is due me over tightening the wastegate actuator arm

More to come next week, once the engine is running.

One of these days the catterhams will be shakeing in their lil rubbber boots.

The main target is already close to being acheived though, the Lotus elise has about 215bhp on a 900 kilo body.  With the new engine i hope to be getting 130 ish bhp on a 650 kilo body  not far to go.

Don't say that to my OH she already thinks i love the car too much and that she should only be getting the hard yard

Yeah gravel is a pain in the a*se, although being a builder i usualy have boards close to hand which i try to lay under the car.

I am very happy with the cam rig, there's quite a few vids on youtube now so you can see the view it gets.
