Hi,
I just gave my cappo a thorough clean, wax & degrease. Totally original (except the stereo) and just thought I'd post these pics for reference when I let it get dirty again

Doughnuts in the car park at work  I didn't want to drive the cappo in the snow, just that I already lent my other car out to a friend

Thx, I used MER ULTIMATE CAR POLISH.

I read that it was good and its really excellent if you're unsure if you should T-cut. It's a favourite polish in the valet industry. The right hand (os) rear wing was pretty dull before I waxed it (the pictures are date stamped)

Finally got around to fitting the intercooler pipes from Bob G and took the opportunity to degrease the intercooler. I also chucked a K&N filter in there, realised left the rubber ring on the old filter and went bin diving for it. The sound of the ABV isn't intrusive at all. I like

when did you get it?
i wish my engine bay looked that good!
id leave the light covers off as they dont look the best when the rest of the car is standard,
and it does look good standard!

Thx
I've had it since July 08. I visited the local jetwash with a can of degreaser in hand. The jetwash reached all the fiddly bits of the engine bay and saved me a lot of elbow grease. Then used a tyre marker pen for the letters on the timing belt cover. I spent just over £30 including the intercooler pipes and am please with the result:cost ratio

Is that strut stopping the engine shaking a custom unit or does Dany stock them? And what is that front brace connected to?

It's to stop the torque roll when you rev the engine.

best polish to use is zymol- only have to wash car with water after , used to use mer but zymol is on another level. after 2yrs  my dads golf still only needs water to wash it off! I did spend over 40hrs doing it tho so the results were good as poss. mer slightly cuts into paintwork, zymol finish coat doesnt. Best bit of it all the final application polish /wax stuff smells so good u wanna eat it or at least try tasting it

I've read what the internet says about Zymol and for £90 it sounds worth it. My Aygo's hatchback it always getting dirty real fast because of the aerodynamics.

I recently swapped out the side lights for LEDs. These had 4 small LEDs per bulb and produced a much nicer white light. Here's a picture for comparison

Halfrauds for about £7. (Credit crunch has meant a lot of the independant PMA stores have closed down in my neighbourhood)

I don't suppose you have the code or part number for the bulbs.

I've slept on my decision. On the one hand, the cappo isn't loosing any market value. On the other hand I was offered nearly DOUBLE  what I paid for it. (but you can't put a price on fun) Shut up, conscience!! Arrrgh!

On the plus side for the cappo club, the spares I've been hoarding are available shortly
