I have been meaning to upload these photos for ages. As I am snowed in and can't go to work I have finally got some time. I got the car in 2004 as a cat D write off. Someone had gone up the back of the previous owner and pushed her into the back of someone else. I pushed the front and back end out and took it for an MOT but it failed on emissions which turned out to be a burnt exhaust valve, after rebuilding the cylinder head I got the car back on the road. A couple of years ago it failed the MOT on rust and a few other things, so we decided to strip the car and restore it. So here are the photos. |

The colour is MG Trophy blue. I have no plans to do any other work. Unfortunatly that is the standard size for the number plates here, the government has made it harder to get custom number plates made now. |

The only way to get a "smaller" plate is to get a shorter reg... like on my car. I'm not sure about the legality of 2 row plates on cars (especially on the front) |

That's how a paint job should be done! The shade of blue is just a bit lighter than mine. I'm, however, in the process of stripping the car and readying it for painting: dark grey metallic (Land Rover's Stornoway Grey) |

I'm not entirely sure that you have to have a front plate, my brothers Integrale doesn't have one....Nor do motorbikes any more. |

You have to have a front number plate on a car by law. 100%. Motorcycles registered after a certain date cannot have a front number plate, by law. |

It really is a large number plate. Perhaps you could argue that it interferes with the radiator airflow and needs to be removed
Allan: how hard is a bare shell to move around - can it be picked up by two people? |

I can't remember how heavy to shell was. I don't think we ever picked up the shell by hand, we rolled the shell on it's side so I could remove the fuel and brake lines. I made a wooden trolley so I could roll the shell around, you can see it in the photo with the car on the trailer. |
