The old one was not loud at all, you could hear it boost under full acceleration but it was not very loud.  This one has a nice deep note to it.  Will get a video up when I get a chance.

Thanks

I just saw your car in the "for sale" section. I put wide arches on my cappu a few months ago. And I am still wondering if I will have to cut them.
At the moment, does your tyres touch the arches when you turn hard ?

Thanks.

My car in for sale section? Must have been Bob-g's thread.  I have not rolled the arches, and its okay on cornering. Only catches if there is a passenger on board. Otherwise its fine.
I still have a set of wide arches, up for sale if anyone wants them.

Hi can you tell me what was the size and offset of the original 280z wheels you had on this car before the slot mags. Really like the look of them and fancy a set on my Suzuki.  do you still have them and would you be interested in selling them if so?

They did seem to stick out of the arches quite a way can you remember how much as I'm going for the wide arch look on my car and need to fill them out?

The scmitar wheels I belive have an offset of 106 out thats whats printed on the rims of the ones I am fitting. If anybody is interested in wide arches there is a guy on ebay selling them for MX5's which from the measurements he sent me will be a close fit. Bought some so will let you all know how it goes.

When you fitted the original Scimitar Dunlop wheels not the Wolfraces where did you get the wheel nuts from, also do you think 196 60 14 tyres are going to casue me problems with the arches ?

I bought a set of wheel nuts from ebay... 195 60 14 will catch, you need 185 55 14 or 175 60 14

On my current wheels I have 185 55 14

Ok so its the width thats the problem not the profile? I'm going wide arch anyway so a few adjustments with a hammer should sort any inner arch problems!

I think you might still struggle with them as they have a 20mm larger diameter over standard...

The arch gaps are quite large on mine as I'm running standard springs so it looks feasible. Where do you think the are likely to catch?

One of the old tyres on the rim is a 195 70 14 I think i'll try that on the car before buying tyres to give me an idea of what might be feasible.

A lot will depend on the offset of the wheel.  My alloys are 5.5j ET38 and with 185/60/14 tyres the passenger side tyre catches the wheelarch liner on full lock whereas the same size tyre on a standard wheel would be fine.

finally got the wheels fitted with 185 60 14 Uniroyals. They rub the front inner arch on full lock and the backs catch the top of the arch over bumps but they are going to get cut away to fit the wide arches anyway.

The paint had been put on with a roller when I bought it, have been slowly rubbing it down and sraying it matt black.

MX 5 arches on it next then rear wing, front splitter and rear diffuser. Used it in a classic car trial recently and it did really well. Will get Autotested through the summer on grass.

Mine has been hibernating for a while, I had a seized rear calliper which I changed, now rolling free.  However the clutch has started to slip, still drives fine under normal acceleration. I bought an Exedy kit last year which I got for a 3rd of the original price.

I keep meaning to change it but weather is bad at the moment.

The silver one is going to be up for sale very soon.  Had all the welding done underneath, the sills have been replaced both sides and a respray.  Plus the head on the cappo was ported and polished with all new seals and belts too.

Also I am getting ready to strip down my Integra and have that fully resprayed.  Its going in for another remap as I am fitting larger injectors, once its back then ready for the body shop.

But I must say, from all the cars I have driven, the Cappo always puts a smile on  my face, its just so much fun lol...

I did really like these wheels but they are just so heavy. The Slot mags I fitted are half the weight, almost same weight as OEM.

They look quite nice !

I'm not a big fan of the weird center cap or whatever it is, though.

Mad max Cappo!

Those wheels look good i reckon. Suit the cap. Maybe a flush centre cap? But looks very different. Good job.

with chrome wheels you have to have other chrome bits but there aren't

I prefer the original wheels... the matt black wheels.

If you fit 185/50/14 you won't have the rubbing issue.  I am using 185/50/14 on my cappo and its awesome, take corners at some crazy speeds.
