Out with the New and in with the Old
Bye Bye Swifty
Hello Suzuki Cappuccino
It does need some TLC, for a 15yr old car I cant fault the bodywork, reason I bought it, but for the last four years its been sat unloved, so before the modding begins I plan to give it a full service and replace some OEM parts |

The red is a Renualt colour, gave me what was left from the respray and roof has been done ford panther black.
Underneath is so far so good in terms of floor plan and arches, the suspension arms are still solid but have a good bit of rust on them... should be getting it on a ramp next week, so ill try get some pics.
I have some other issues, needs a new clutch, engine seems sound but needs a good service and cam belt ect... its not been mechanically well looked after, 65k on the clock tho.
I have a rear wheel issue I haven't 100% diagnosed yet, I get a hum from the rear, but because its been sat in a garage for over 4yrs it could be the brakes rubbing, as they do have some resistance, or wheel bearing... but concerning is that the rear passenger wheel has very slight positive camber, hope its not serious.
Other than that is the steering is heavy but improving over time, but should be 100% when it gets coilovers, but again reckon its due to the time its been left and tracking ect needs done, oh and I would also like a suzuki sport suspension bush kit. |

Nice capp in a nice colour. Were you at Japfest at Rockingham last year with the Swift folks?
You might want to move the rear badge... looks a bit, um, awkward. |

Took some pics of the underside, with limited access, hopefully more when its on some ramps..
I dont know what I'm looking for on the rear suspension setup atm, wondered if you guys can spot anything suspect? Even tho owner said it hasnt, I think its had a bump rear passenger area, I just hope its not a chassis issue, but instead something simple... also opinions if I should replace the rear suspension arms and links due to rust? Or should they be salvagable.

How stupid not to notice!!!!
The camber adjustment bolts are in different locations? Do these bolts adjust the camber much? Seems like this could be the answer to my problem. |

Not sure how much adjustment is available but they should be adjusted by the same amount so if they different it could well be the problem. |

It's a lil rusty underneath. But half of it's covered. be careful with the corroded furl pipes. Thats an MOT issue I think. Great Body and looks fresh!! Liking the new pics too. I'm still liking the colour!! But in a metallic! |

Not use about rising sun yet, ive been once and I did enjoy it.
Also with the rust, I have a friend who restores Stags, and comes with a 10year rust guarantee, I will be asking him to fix him up before the winter, it will be costly, but I plan to own the Cappo a long time and it will be a daily runner. |

More pics again
Absolutely love this littler motor, even tho its not quite right yet. Dave (partner) kindly gave it a full service so the engine now running nice and smooth, next is it needs a rear wheel bearing and the alignment is screwed.
Before I start the modding also going to buy a full set of new tyres and front disc's and pads, so the modding wont likely start until May. |

Badge has now been removed lol
Sorted the wheel bearing and the rear twitching was the toe, got rid of the twitching, but the toe cant be sorted completely, seems someone has welded on a new trailing arm and it must be a few mm out!!
So I will be getting some rear lower control arms and a friend will be adding more adjustment to them to sort the toe and also means I can add some camber |

Could be a lot worse Floorpans look fairly solid (although passenger side looks a little odd) Good job you found the bit next to the seatbelt mounting bolt! |

The passenger side someone tried to repair it with mostly fibreglass, got as much of it off as I could.
Its solid behind the hole too, which would of been alot more work. |

Seems to be a lot of people repairing holes in Cappos with fibreglass! My silver breaker had huge areas of floor that are completely fibreglass |

So that they can do a cheap bodge job and sell it on for someone else to fix. Have you checked all the other areas for rust e.g chassis rails up by the fuel tank? Have you done the magnet test for filler around the wheel arches? Nice colour, good paint job, but beauty is more than skin deep. |

The car has been on a ramp, but didnt get any pics, overall its solid, Im thinking the area ive found was mainly due to damp. There is other areas of concern but nothing major so far.
Wheel arches do have filler and underseal in them, ive had a good poke with sharp needle nose pilers tho, and so far nothing major.
I knew what I was getting myself into buying a Cappo

You can see more evidence of the previous accident damage around the passenger side. Looks like a previous owner may have locked their keys in the boot at some point too maybe... |
