Hi, guys
Finally I gotta introduce my cappuccino
bought few months ago and previous owner told me it has lots of work done but I don't really know about cappuccino and mechanics so don't know what's been done on.
I just took few pics of it hoping you senseis find out what's going on with my little buddy
and I took it to monster sports in Milton Keynes they told me I need ecu remapping. does anyone know where I can do or how to do??
and also it seems like spending lots of engine oil and there is no leaking or burning :s only thing I found out from monster sports, it comes out to exhaust.. and recently check engine light is on after few minutes driving. so I'm just wondering if there is any way to check the engine..?
Thank you for reading and coping with my whining Young

I recognise that plate.
Some pretty intresting mods to that car, others here will tell you what turbo that is (its a pretty big one), improved intercooler, dunno what the intake manifold guard is for, cusco catch tank, electronic boost control, push button start and some piggy back ECU from the look of things.
Monster might be talking about the piggy back ecu needing remapping the stock ecu certainly isnt capable of that, you need to see is you can get some more info off that big black box in the glove box, there should be someone near milton keynes that can do it, after all your not far from the home of motorsport. |

Marc, am I right in thinking this used to have two white stripes?
ggo0 - as well as the interior things I mentioned previously - cage and seats - you obviously have the lovely Nardi steering wheel and HKS gauges.
Also under the bonnet you can see the original HKS dump valve (I've got the same one!) You can also see the adjusters for the suspension. |
Drop me a PM if you would like to be added to the ClubCappo Member Map. More details can be found here. We now have an official Facebook group as well as a page! See here |

crikey, that is a big turbo for a Cappo! Hopefully not too big as to have compromised reliability. I'd think that turbo would support 150bhp fairly easily. |

Have you not got any paper work and invoices of the work that's been done on the car? |

Not sure about that, but i really recognise that plate, i know we've had a few cap plated cars but it just rings lots of bells.
Seriously modded proper JDM style, just need to sort out the side repeaters and get steve to steam clean it and that would be a sweet lil car.

Thinking about it get the car upto the nationals meet and we'd have a pretty good array of every type of cappo and mod you can get. |

Something special or something wrong with the one on the car it doesn't look damaged.

This looks like it has a lot of very nice bit on it.if you are using oil then it will be most likely rings or turbo and if it does have JE pistons as indicated by the stickers then you have an engine with a lot of potential a simple compression test should tell you if the piston rings are at fault if all ok there then you may be looking at the turbo seals.

Was this on ebay about 3-4 months ago?
It should be possible to switch the piggy-back ECU off to revert to the standard ECU?
Marc - I think the throttle sheild is to keep water off the TPS due to the holes in the bonnet. |

That would make sense. I wouldn't recomend reverting back to the stock ecu without getting on a dyno, there's no way the stock ecu was intended for that monster turbo. |

It looks like the piggy back ECU is an HKS F-CON PFC |

If that has had the internals rebuilt then it should certainly be good for some ridiculous power. Should be interesting to see this develop |
