^ You only have to connect the pot on the flylead connector and not the switch outputs on the main body.
No mods to the Nissan TPS either apart from grinding out the elongated mounting holes a touch, it slips straight on and clears the fuel rail.
Here in OZ Nissan parts are probably one of the most readily available and hence priced OK as well.

Well I've just picked up two of these Nissan sensors on ebay for a reasonable price.  Assuming they
both work OK, I should have a spare one if anyone is interested.

I have connected both but disabled the main body digital ouptuts for the moment and am just using the analogue output.
The pink plug in the pic is the analogue connector. I changed the standard plug as I didnt have a matching connector.

On the Nissan TPS, there is a 'switch' output and an analogue output. I currently only have the analogue connected to the Adaptronic, But i belive that Grant has also connected the Switch output into the original loom. No real need to do this if your running the Adaptronic, but a good idea if you migth ever need to have the stock ecu back in there.

The original ECU is gone.
I used the same wires to connect my new analogue TPS to the Adaptronic.
Th Nissan one's are a dime a dozen here in OZ and I imagine they would be fairly common in the UK also.

Aha, so that's how it is..

Well I want to install a piggyback fc. So the ecu will still be there.
That's why having 2 outputs on the tps sounds so good! The sensor one for the fc and the switch one for the ecu.

Ezra,

I wired the digital signals on the new TPS on the original harness for standard ECU compatibility,
then added a new wiring run for the analogue side back to the Adaptronic.
I do still have the other TPS, see your PMs.

If you use the Nissan TPS there are a couple of variations of them, not with the variable output but some only have a WOT switch and no idle switch and visa versa. There are some with both though.
Check before you buy as they all look the same.

Looking on my car, it's wired as follows (I can only assume the TPS I sent you is wired the
same way):
  - Blue - GND
  - White - TPS signal
  - Pink - 5V
I took the +5V from the Adaptronic so you'll need to find a supply from elsewhere - perhaps your monitoring circuitry?  It doesn't have to be 5V as the TPS is just a potentiometer, you'll need to
feed it something appropriate for your a2d circuits input range.

For the idle/WOT switches, I was able to plug the original loom connector on to the Nissan TPS after
removing the two locating keys on the TPS plug,  the signals seem to be the correct way round for me but you might want to check this on the TPS you have:

I'll have to find a 5V supply from somewhere indeed. Or just take 12 from somewhere and make it 5.

I also did the same as you did with the switch. It fits very good.

Well, I'll be after the 5V then!

Edit: It seems the iphone charger charges at 5v. So I'm gonna take a car adapter apart and use that I think

Don't use a separate 5 volt supply, use a 5 volt supply from the ecu.

I will try and have a look at the one I fitted to my cappo but they are a very common Nissan one and if you have any Japanese auto wreckers nerby its probably easier to go there and pick one.

I managed to pick up an analogue nissan tps from a wrecker. I asked for an early 90's maxima one, and was given one from an infiniti q45, along with the explanation that "they're all the same".

It's made by JECS and has the part number a22 641 922.

Great write up by Grant and Don, I followed their instructions and it works perfectly

I don't think the infiniti was ever released to europe / uk. Maybe an early 90's maxima might be compatible? Ebay might also be an option:

Although I can't guarantee it, both of these _look_ exactly the same as the one I bought, often these parts are common to various models for one manufacturer, yet they sport different part numbers and slightly different connectors, etc.

The common thread seems to be that these are for automatic v6 or v8 models, and the one to go for has the two connections, one from the body of the tps, and the analogue connection on a separate flylead.

Apparently a number of supra drivers have also done this mod here in oz so your local jap import wrecker may be in the know.

They certainly look like the right ones.
The thing is to make sure you get one with the fly lead connection as thats the analogue output as you said.

Well after spending a day tidying up the extra loom i've added, acquiring and soldering the connectors and the Adaptronic loom into place i've now found my weber pf09 TPS has failed.  Probably, like wayne mentioned due to me having to cut it open and alter the case, so i've now got to source another TPS.
We don't have auto dismantlers in the country now either due to H & S or real estate costs, so if anyone has a spare nissan unit or know where i can get one it would be greatly appreciated.

Ir not there are a couple of jap wreckers in my area which I know have them but cant check that until at least Tuesday as its the Queens Birthday holiday here on Monday?

Your taking the mick aren't you, its winter there and your getting 18c at night, we're only just hitting that most days.

If you can find one it would be appreciated, i think i've found another possible candidate, but cant say for sure till i find my tape measure and then a supplier and then actually see if the rotation is correct

The rotation doesnt matter as the analouge output is just from a variable resitor and you can connect the leads to suit the output you want.

Personnaly I would just get a Nissan one. They were fitted to heaps of different models and are cheap.

Taking the micky? It was 18 at about 5PM but got really cold last night down to about 13

Which is CCW rotation
Some of the Nissan tps carry a higher pricetag depending on which model you obtain one from...
