I all, just starting up this thread to gauge the interest in a remapping service of the standard Ecu Unit. Iv been doing alot of research into it and think i can get the equipment and parts to upgrade the standard unit with better maps. I currently have 3 maps, one is for standard boost levels around 1bar. Also maps that support up to 1.3 and 1.5 bar. Also should be able to remove the speed limiter and customize the boost and rev limit.
Its currently in the early stages, im getting the parts to upgrade my own ecu and test it. If it all goes well i will offer a exchange service with your old ecu plus a fee for an upgraded unit.

Interesting...
Everyone I've spoken to seemed to think it was a non starter due to the type of chips used in the ECU. It would be good if a way of chipping them easily was found for those not lucky enough to have got an N1 etc. |

The stock ECU uses a micro controller that's not re-writable and is no longer readily available as a blank device.
If somone wants to trawl the obsolete stockists around the world to find some then I could probably write them. |

The only thing needed with an N1 is a change to DCPR8EIX spark plugs. |

Yeah an N1 to borrow would be a good idea. Im going to get an extra Ecu, remap that then dyno test it against my standard unit to give everyone an idea of the power gains before i start offering the re-map service. Would be cool to dyno an N1 on my car aswell to make sure the remap offers the same power increase. |

All I need for the above is an N1 ECU.
I have a car, a dyno and everything I'd need to read, write desolder and socket the ECUs, since that's what I do to earn a living! |

W0000t, sounding good - 20% more go is 20% more fun!
Wayne, have you looked at building a Megasquirt thats pin compatable with the Suzuki ECU? |

Now that sounds like a good idea! I know plenty of people on a kit car forum who use Megasquirt on all sorts of engines. It is liked a lot.

God no, I have enough to do.
By the time I'd built one I could have earned the money and bought something much better.
I have been plagued over the years by the Mega-Squirt curse and its numerous variations..... 'Spectre', 'VEMS' etc etc.
I'm all for 'do it yourself' but with an ECU it pays to buy a proper one. |

Hi again, been a pit of a long time in the pipe line. My contact in japan has posted the relevant parts for mapping the ECU, should be here in a few days. When it does, just a case of flashing the maps he provided on to the hardware and fitting it in. Fingers crossed i dont blow my cappo up, lol. |

Not sure on the price yet, but the good news its its all installed and running. Got a chip in there mapped up to 1.3 bar and boy can you feel the difference. Revs a lot more smoothly pulls loads better under boost and seems to have lost the flat spot where it stops pulling at 6500rpm, just seems to keep going. Was adventurous and set the boost controller to 1.1 bar (thought best not push it higher cause have a bit of a leaky oil seal) and was lucky enough to have a Mk2 MR2 pullup at the lights reving for a race, needless to say by the time i was shifting to 3rd he had given up, lol. I was shocked how much this little engine has to give. |

Hi again all, time for a bit of an update. Been a bit strapped for cash so had to put the venture on hold. Cars been running great on the new maps under normal driving conditions. Even more so now that i worked out that my lambda sensor was shot so had to replace it.
Unfortunately though my poorly cappo (burning oil from the turbo seals i think) has been putting me off knocking the boost up and seeing how much real kick the maps have. Also pretty sure the oil burning is messing my air fuel ratio. Was wondering if anyone wants to put the ecu to the test in there car? Be great to get somebody else's opinion, especially if you have a N1 and see how your car feels on my remap. |

I've got a n1 coming over from Japan. (couldn't help myself lol) I'm willing to test and compare them for you. I've got a dyno program on my iPhone which is pretty acurate, that could help in the comparison.
BUT it might be more convenient to find someone closer to where you live with an n1.. |

Judging by the posts to this thread you seem to have quite a few people interested. Perhaps it would be a good idea if someone (MMD or Ezra?) posted a bit more info, a bit more frequently? Ideally some precise specs of what the re-map does and a time scale for testing/develpment and maybe a tentative launch date for selling them. It would help to keep people interested and give us a better idea of what we might be buying. In respect of cash flow some people might be willing to pay in advance if they knew more precisely what they were getting. I hope this helps. |

I want to get one of my ecu's remapped for the LGD also, but don't forget there's always an adaptronic ecu option also. |

Is it plug and play though? Do you have to faff about adding/changing sensors and mapping? |
