I now have the red beast and it was a blast getting the car back home from the midlands, it beat the train journey anyway.
I am more than pleased with the vehicle and still adjusting to its individual traits.

I was aware of some wind noise whilst travelling along 70+ mph legal speed from behind my head.  On closer inspection I noticed that the right side hood panel sticks up very slightly at the rear, compared to the left side.  I had the pleasure first time to take the hood fully down and clean everything rubber is in good nick and everything slots into the channels ok, no obstructions.  My thought of a culprit now centres on the back clasp, can this losen with time? also can it be adjusted some how?

Any advice is welcome from you long timers, Ards : )

There is a small amount of adjustment possible to make the clips tighter. You could also add shims to space them out which should work too.

Just been and wrestled the frozen roof panel off my silver one and there are two crosshead screws holding the lock and shim to the panel.  Making sure these are tight might be all that is needed.

Speechless, well almost, thanks very much for taking the time and the trouble out, I read with interest in the Suzi manual that they advice with the roof design to keep said cap in under cover of heavy rainfall, but if the seals fit well this should not really be an issue?
My carpets to date are dry, but I will continue to check as a matter of good practise in the future.

Standard phrasing in most convertible manuals to cover their own backs I think   I've never had much in the way of rain find it's way in, maybe a drip or two in a torrential downpour but that's all.  Pressure washers however are a different story!

Pressure washers have their place, but they also have a lot to answer for with car painwork and other accesories damaged.
I look forward to cleaning the cap, because as you know it wont take long and it will be environmentally friendly with the small quantity of water and soap/wax used up!

The plusses to this car keep on stacking up!

I too had one roof lock where the screws attaching it to the roof panel worked loose.
Worse than that was one of the mating halves attached to the rear hoop. This is attached by Torx screws which hold it to a plate spot welded to the hoop. One of these rear clips was loose and I intended to tighten it up, assuming it was loose screws,  but before I got to that I leaned on it as I was folding the hoop down. The spot welds gave out! Looking at the bits one of the spot welds had not been good from new, the second had been only half way onto the plate. the third had been good but the flexing due to use ( and the state of the other two welds) had torn the metal round it.

Generally the roof is watertight but sometimes with heavy rain just after putting the roof up it can leak at the front corners. I suspect it is the order of putting roof on, shutting doors and closing windows that affects this but I cannot remember which order lets it leak.

While we are on the subject. I have completely stripped the middle roof section on mine., I'm getting some ideas for the roof section you see.

a    Looking at having the grey leather/plastic changed for a darker red leather.

b   Stripped so that the panel can be seen re spreyed on the inside too- where visible

c    all the rubbers can be cleaned and re sealed/ checked.

Has anyboy else done this? and what did they find when removing the corners of the left and right side panels??????? Ive not removed them yet. Kind of hesitant. Are the brittle?

Pulled them apart many times

The clip that hold the vinyled cardboard panels on are very brittle and hard to get out (may as well buy new ones afterwards!) but underneath there is just a shell and some internal ally bracing sprayed the same metallic grey as the resay of the roof panel.

I covered all my roof in grey alcantara to match the rest of my custom interior - if you recover the roof panels inside you will need a very good adhesive/strong adhesive. The sun's heat will make the cheap contact adhesive come off!

Red leather panels? Hmmm I was sizing up a leather interior last year and liked the black and red motif.

Where were you thinking of getting it done?

Well I resorted to a couple of washers on each of the 3 screws and that small amount has indeed done the trick, fiddly but well worth the trouble, thanks for your help, much appreciated.
