Hey all - getting my MOT/rwc sorted here in Oz but one of the only things I need is the engine number so the tester can do a visual check!
All I need is a photo or pretty exact location of where the engine number is! I think it's somewhere near the alternator but cant see it - engine is clean already
If someone can tell me in very clear terminology (eg 2nd bolt back on casting about 15mm away from ...) or a photo (even better) I would be very appreciative!
Thanks all |

Its is in a dodgy spot I think but the Owners Manual shows where to look. If you dont have a copy let me know. |

It is indeed near the alternator. The location is shown in one of the manuals. Not sure which one or which page as I've not got them in front of me. It can't be that easy to find though as I've got the head and alternator of the engine of the silver one and I still couldn't spot it! |

If you have chance to look at the owners manual Grant that would be great , thankyou (not being lazy - I just don't have one!) - thanks too Andy
For the record - all I needed to do was adjust handbrake, clean oil around sump (degrease), change bov back to standard and find the engine number (cost = $2 for a can of degreaser ) |

Good grief....... $2!! At that price it's almost worth sending UK cappos to Oz to get them tested..
The engine number is on the driver's side bottom of the block just aft of the alternator mounting.

Still took a bit of searching! - Had the smallest amount of grime and it was enough to cover the numbers! It is between the two bolts that the driver's side engine mount bolts to the block - a millimeter above the top of the sump.
thanks all! |
