Chaps

after a  year of lurking on here I've finally done it and bought a cappo

next question is is there any tweaks to increase legroom , the car isn't uncomfortable but If I could liberate a inch or so I'd be happier

I was thinking of trimming the seat corners slightly and raising the seat runners at the front to offer more under thigh support

then there's all the other little jobs like attending to the rust and shabby paintwork.....

still I knew about that ...

When i installed my fixed bucket seats (Sparco Sprint Junior), i found myself sitting a lot lower and further back, and it's a lot roomier.

I'm 180cm tall

Will has the same bucket, and he's about 12 feet tall, and i know he loves his!

I have this niggling feeling in the back of my mind that I did something with the seat runners to enable the seat to slide about an inch further back, but I can't remember what.....

I definately took it out to look at the runners, and seem to recall that I gained about an inch.

So, you might want to take out the drivers seat and have a look....

Doesn't the seat back touch the bulkhead when it is it is fully back?
The stop is IIRC the rear bolt holding the seat you could change for a flat/countersunk bolt, but you may have to introduce another slot for the seat retaining mechanism.
You need to get some seats with thinner backs like the seats from an Elise or aftermarket.

SPA design D shaped 255mm Steering wheel the flat bottom means you get lots more leg room.

http://www.spa-uk.co.uk/design/productdetails/?objid=615

other than that im going to experiment with some smart roadster seats to gain some head room other than that and some small scatter cushions and no seat im stuck at 189cm

Well I've re-drilled the seat runner mounting holes to move the runners foward on the seat frame and therefore move the seat back,
Also removed the fibre backing from the carpet behind the seat  and I've gained about 15mm or so of extra legroom

I also added some 12.5mm spacers under the front mounting points to angle the front of the seat up

now this doesn't sound like much but I'm nicely surprised at the improvement its made as its definitely more comfortable

Wotcha

I haven't got a piccy but if you unbolt the seat you 'll see that the seat runners bolt onto the seat frame

I then drilled the mounting holes about 15mm further back this means the rearmost point breaks out of the edge of the runner so I used  some large washers to ensure the runner was clamped up

then fit the thick spacers between the front mount holes and frame to angle the front of the seat

I' 6' 3" and like I said it helped me

Peeps

to further aid my fitting a quart into a pint pot
I've also lowered the seat squab ( cushion ) by re-drilling the spring mounting holes on the bottom of the seat frame as opposed to the top
this has resulted in about 10-15mm increase in headroom  as I was banging my head on the roof quite a bit on bumpy roads

this also shows the spacers I added to tilt the seat  and the seat runner being moved a little back to increase legroom
