Well i knew the time was fast approaching and yesterday evening i had the visual and paper to prove it, she's failed
Its been 10 months since i've had the chance to look underneath the car and she's pretty bad, rust and holes almost completely along the seams on both sides and after 4 years of advisories the front to rear and both rear brake lines. Other than that though she's sound.
I just wish she had her MOT in the summer months so i could have a few days doing crappy jobs in half decent weather.
As i've got no time or all the parts yet for the full resto, i'm just going to plate her up and maybe get around to fabricating a better brake/fuel line guard. All the materials have been purchased so hopefully i can get her back on the road within the retest period. Hopefully i wont be chasing the dreaded cancer all round the car while trying to find good weld points.
Now i just have to figure out a safe way of getting her off the ground to spend the few days cleaning and welding. As soon as i have i'll probably be posting some pics in my thread. |
