They don't need sealing, if it wears a little I just spray some more adhesive and a bit more flocking onto the surface If I do the dash and speaker pods in the same manner it will look good together I hope! Probably some alacantra leather (suede) here and there too |

I think the suede/leather for parts that will actively get wear and tear like the door handles would be good - I can't see the flocking lasting very long on the drivers doors handle .
Against the flocking maybe the suede would blend in better against the flocking and ally? |

Have you tried to cover many things in leather! It's not like vinyl where a heat gun allows a bit of stretch I don't mind a bit of 'maintenance' now and then - I am going to leave the dark grey panels around the dash alone at this stage for a bit of contrast. The new lamborghini I saw at the motorshow had a fully flocked dashboard, I will probably head that way too! |

It looks really effective. I bet it gives an much cosier feel than all the plastic! Are those speaker pods for the door trims? |

Thanks Andy, I looked through google for some car interior shots for some ideas ages ago and flocking 'struck a chord' with me. Really easy to do too!
Just realised today you can remove the A pillar plastics without much trouble too so my new scanspeak tweeters will end up firing across at each other when I make the tweeter builds on them.
The pods will end up on the doors, they were painted with white housepaint and I got them for a bargain ($10) at a local car swapmeet last month! I still have to find some midranges and/or Woofers yet! Not sure if I will go three way active or two way. Certainly will be cosy in there with those big leather electric seats and all this around me! Not going to break any land speed records carrying another 100 kilo's of stereo and seats but I'd rather drive in comfort

Other thing I have been buying gradually is all the audio gear for Smashie (I know how much ICE excites you Olyfan!).
Last month I have acquired:
Scanspeak 6600 AirCirc tweeters - used in lots of home theatre systems too, these are some of the best money can buy
Soundstream Class A 10.0 - Well known and rare amp that I will be using for the sub (it will look nice next to the other Soundstream amp I have already!). It can go as low as 1/4 of an ohm stable!
Clarion HX-D2 - Probably in the top 5 HU's in the world for sound quality! (Others being Alpine F#1 series, Nakamichi CD700 (in Silvery), Pioneer P9 or P90. I needed something with TA (Time Alignment) and the ability to control and tune a 3 way front stage.
The 8W7 - very high sound quality sub but power hungry and needs an amp that's 3 ohm stable at least...
And my Sounstream Tarantula TR880/2 amp
Got to make a interior and boot install worthy of housing these components now! They cost in excess of $3500 so I will be doing a good job!

Worked on Smashie again today and over the last few weeks. His passenger floorpan had a kink in it all the way along. I had to make a jig up to attach to the base of the sill (out of 10mm steel plate) like a vice and welded a tube to it so I could pump the dent out sideways... The end of the 10000kg rated pneumatic jack was bolted to the boltholes in the middle of the car. I cut the other part of the chassis to fit in the 'trailer part' of Smashie and sealed the edges with silver paint temporarily. Our floorpans in Oz have no rust either!
After Marty looked it over he said the top of the sill on the passenger side needed moving over (using the jack) and to get a bit more out of the floorpan in a couple of places - then we should be good for the conjoining!
