ok here is the sound from inside the car, roof off in the driveway.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcvnmjUMZQ8

Its a cold start, I let it warm up and then blipped the throttle a little, the last bit is what I mean by loud.

I don't know how tall this guy is but he makes the cappo look tiny!

I believe it's getting featured on pistonheads at some point possibly, unless it gets nudged off the road by a bigger car

Cheers Guys, I think this is more Zcars showing off what they can do on pistonheads, as opposed to someone being wowed by the car & wanting to feature it.

I am curious about the reactions it will cause? And I'm not sure if they resolved my super loud, ear bleeding, whining diff noise before they let the media guy loose in it, so who knows what they'll write up about it.

They took it round the track at Cadwell park - I want to know how it handled, as I fed back that the brakes were no good, plus the suspension is seriously hard and low profile tyres would probably work against the car, and of course, it was never intended to be a track toy. I noticed a camera mount in the rear window on one of the track shots, so hopefully there will be a video out there....

I won't be back with the car until this summer (which is really annoying me), alas, I have to be patient

Also developing a dislike for that front bumper, need an A-site one if anyone knows where I can get one (see my wanted ad)

Cheers
H

Who needs these people we have our own Stig...aka Wayne! Seriously though I think Wayne and his track Cappo would do the best job of detroying lap records at the top gear track.

Despite the figures quoted on pistonheads, mine is built to be a road car just with a bit of a frantic kick to it, not sure where the extra 20bhp sprang up from!

I think it was a good read, and the comments were fun to read too! Was surprised by the rating it got!

I'll have a camera clamped to it this summer, will stick it up on YouTube plus I think Zcars will post up a video of it soon too.

Contemplating a twin engined car next!

Twin engined car that will be a blast. I'm so tempted to go down the hayabusa route on my cap but not sure whether to do that or just tune the nuts of the F6A

Cheers guys, yes stops good now - will upload a few shots of the front and rear brakes.

That G-Meters been in the car so long now I don't even see it any more! Its actually an air freshener, you stick some oil based scent stuff in it and it seeps through the clay into the car.

To be honest the experience is better with the roof down, when the roof is on the rattles inside the cabin get a bit extreme for the ears, need to go over the interior install with lots of dynamat & find a whatever it is that sounds like a bag of spanners rattling around...

Cheers

thinking of having this set up installed:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0fhLasMogE&feature=youtube_gdata_player

& possibly downsizing the wheels to 16's, leveraging off of islamic geometric patterns...I am thinking about taking the pattern and then having it made with a deep dish and concave face.
I see this design on a lot of mosque windows in Saudi:

I think I've seen a few video's of this fine car on Youtube. They are so awesome, I was this close to recording the sounds as a MP3 These videos, and the build stories on this site, inspired me to go all way and get me a serious cappo too.

I got Stephens' build. Man he sure did an awesome job

Fastforward - have you changed your screen name??

Thanks! I think the busa is too noisy, the wheels too big and consequently suspension travel limited and ride quality poor, the seats will also cause backache unless you're super fit which I am far from! The rear diff whines (piercing metallic noise) and that coupled with numerous vibrations makes it overwhelming for the senses.

It is however stupidly fast which makes up for all of the above, plus the reaction it gets is pretty wild.

Counting down the days to my next drive....with hopefully smaller bespoke rims, slicker gear changes and a cushion for my back!

Pzooo is now FFW indeed..I can tell you my experiences after driving 1500 kiometres (in 1 week) in this mighty machine.

The swift GTI turbo engine is a powerful beast. It makes the car feel like weighing less than air when kicking it down. So far I havent raced any other cars, but I am very sure the power to weight ratio will beat anything that is road legal over here

Downsides I experienced are vaporizing fluids, it drinks 5w40 and coolant quite a lot. I check it twice daily to be sure I am not in the danger zone. I have an appointment with a GTI Turbo wizard later this month to have that fixed (thats a true benefit of this car, there are many people driving around with swift GTI's) . Another downside is nervous driving at cruising speeds, the always present 2.5" exhaust noise and in car vibrations (of which I found the causes, like the vibrating mini stick of the mile-o-meter button, and not surprisingly in a cappo : the handbrake button) which makes the cruising in normal traffic unpleasant. But this car is not for cruising, it feels most comfortable when it is accelerating and kicking butt

I'll make a video soon. Hope I can get the thrill across

Awesome car. Truly an inspiration for others. Here in Japan, I don't know if such a car could pass Shakken to be road legal, but I'm gong to find out. You mention the noise inside the car, but I did not see about the layering of Dynamat, or some other material to address noise. Am I correct in this not yet being addressed? If not, what major obstacles do you foresee, if any, in installing sound damping material? Also, I may be blind, and my eyeglasses prescription shows that I'm nearly there, but I did not see information about your rear diff other than it has the reverse gear in it. Is there a website of the supplier and a price list?

Hi ishigakisensei

Greetings to you in Japan from Saudi!

You can find the rear diff info here: http://www.eliteracingtransmissions.com/products/mx200-il/

Just noticed they've rated it at 340NM it was 270NM when I bought mine might have to upgrade as this was the limiting factor when the engine was set up. I.e. 270Nm max left me 330bhp, I might be able to get a remap to 400bhp which is what the engine was built for!

And you are correct no dynamat yet, am in the process of having this applied. I cant think of any obstacles,  but I heard it adds weight. Not sure how much though.

Thx
H
