loads of clearance probs, and worried about the arc the wheel will form when turning - need to think through extending the suspension arms out? |

basically - 17" + lowering & widening are a headache, will require reworking some suspension, and modifying the sill area etc to allow the wheels to turn. Looking for smaller tyres too.
The take off arches don't work, they way they fit doesn't give the clearance needed.
I will continue and see what happens but suspect I will need to get 16" alloys to achieve the desired ride height, and retain the ability to change direction!
Will update again soon. Might have 17" alloys for sale soon!! |

It will definitely accelerate quick enough, but the brakes are standard, just using black diamond stuff, the suspension is an unknown, and there are other issues to resolve eg the camber, clearance etc
Round a track would probably disappoint, this one is being built for the road! Will have to wait and see.

The Arches/Flares/Bodykit are purely COSMETIC.....
Because you are lowering the car sooooo much, Unless you REMOVE Some of the METAL where the Arch meets the Bodywork....you will scrape the tyres. I have 205/40/17 on Sneaza et40...no probs, and same on front of Red One, but 225/35/17 on Rear of Red One et40 with spacers...no probs but I did remove the Metal on the Rear when I attached the Arches. Have a look in my Album, you'll see what I mean.
With your offset you shouldn't have any clearance issues with the suspension because you have moved away from it....... Draw a line around the Arches with Texta, Remove them, then from the BOTTOM LIP, Follow/Trace the line till about 10mm from the Arch line.....THEN REMOVE THE METAL.
Whatever mm you dropped it, you will need to remove double that amount of metal, especially at the REAR. Just noticed that you have the 50mm Arches, so when you REMOVE THE METAL, you will have heaps of room. Just remember to weld up the Outer/Inner Panels at the rear once you cut them..... |

Nankangs NS2 are okay, have them on my FTO. Would opt for 195/35/17's but they aren't available over here, so looking in Japan for similar to my Rears..... |

I love what your doing to the car but have to ask have you driven a cappo thats close to what you want to acheive?
The reason i ask is that i fear it would be undrivable on UK roads, mine is lowered with take off kit and those suzi sport coilovers and it's one of the most uncomfortable drives i've ever had at speed.
Where do you live? as i would suggest maybe you coming to give mine a try out. Admitedly i'm using the stock ally's but have R888 on the rear so the stiffness should be the same if not more than the 35 profile nankangs.
I'd hate to see you spend a fortune on a car and upset the drivability to a point that you slip a disc everytime you hit a pot hole. |

Cheers Kei, if the 17's don't work on the front, the reserve plan is to downsize to 16's.
Apart from driving it I want to park it in the living room in place of the TV, and wash it of course.....odd I know, but I've been waiting to do this since Oct 1997 |

The old (new just fitted, never driven on) suszuki sport suspension will be for sale soon!
I have decided to get Zcars to extend the wishbones and track rods, and add adjustable camber, this will push the wheels out, retain full functionality of the steering, and hopefully it'll handle ok too! |

They are 7x17 front and 8x17 rear, with 195/40 and 215/40 tyres, I will post up the exact offset and related measurements, need to dig through some old emails to find them. |

I believe the bonnet will need buldge, they had to cut some vents above & behind the location of the turbo too. Not ideal as I like the stock bonnet, but it's needed for cooling. |

I would be so tempted just to run this exhaust straight through the two side vents. one from the rear of the turbine through the lower grill the upper wing port would get the screamer pipe.
legal?....nahhh |

Suspension arms are being extended at the front by 1.5 inches, and camber adjustment built in. On the rear Image do a spacer system where the wheel poitively locates on to the spacer - this is also being pushed out 1.5 inches.
Pins are being swapped from 10mm to 12mm and 2.5 inches length, and 0.25 inch sleeve nuts will hold the wheels & spacers to the hub.
Additonally I am searching for the diameter of the headlight so I can stick an angel eye on it. The headlight units are being opened up and the inside bits painted the same aas the body - black. Does anyone know the size? Alternatively I'll ask Zcars to open the units and get me the size.
Rear lights are also going to be smoked black.
Digidash is in place - the install looks tidy to me.
Also due to some miscommunication the wheels are missing perimeter bolts, Image are going to correct this for me but the wait time is the same as buying a full set, so if anyone wants this set (at cost) they are more then welcome. If not, no issues, they will just be sent back for correction.
I am also dropping the take-off wheel arches from the equation, and getting smaller less rounded ones put on - so those will be up for grabs soon too.
