I couldn't find anyone on minkara that had fitted gauges to the panel separating the upper and lower sections of the dashboard. Most seem to favour some stick on pods, as in the pic.
Has anyone on here fitted them to that middle panel??? Please could you post up a few photos?
Thanks H

This is what I have been thinking of doing but actually fitted inside that little section rather than having a holder |

Thanks - do you think there is something behind that panel that prevents direct fitment of these things?
I couldn't understand why it was so difficult to find someone else that had already done it.

I've seen them mounted directly into that space before but to be useful they would have to be angled towards the driver. The other problem with mounting them here though is that there is a metal plate and some other plastic brackets etc. I will take a pic of the rear of my spare dash and post it up. |

I think the best location to mount meters is not too far from your normal vision. So I have my phone / GPS mounted on my sun visor, with rubber bands. This way you can view it with minimal eye movement but thieves can't see anything When I mount a boost and temperature gauge, it will be in the upper right corner too. |

I've taken that panel off before, there is some air con ducting behind there but with a little customising it shouldn't be a problem. I was thinking the same thing xD |

To do this would definitely be a dash out job....the heater vent runs directly behind this section of dash, it'd be easier to trim your holes and trial fit dash out, then work out how to get air over to that side after gauges are in situ Seems like a lot of work for gauge placement haha Digidash would be easier |

Or if you are running an aftermarket ECU, you could have a small a bunch of small LCD's there that act as guages. (My plan) Dont need to take dash out for that, but will get a bit messy if you dont. |

the original part was measured for creating a CAD-file (see photos) and I should receive the first part by the end of this week. It will be a 3D-plot made of ABS plastic. The gauges are 45mm, I bought from ebay some time ago. I hope that it will fit and will post photos of it
Regards, Hans |
