Had a little bit of rough running recently, and a bit of popping and banging, turned out to be the coilpack and got a replacement from Suzuki, fitted, and all was well again.

Had a cambelt change too.  The previous owner said they had done it recently when I bought it, but if there welding was anything to go by, well......

To be fair the belt itself didn't look too bad, but the tensioner was a bit noisy, So new belt and tensioner fitted along with a new rubber o ring for the dipstick to replace the makeshift silicone seal we found

Then onto the mounts replaced the fronts with Suzuki Sport items, the originals had a bit of movement, nothing to major, but the gearbox mount had really had it

Fitting the new one had a lucky side effect of giving more clearance with my brace

While having a poke around we also spotted this

Little bit of extra heat seems to be attacking the plastic battery tray/box thing so We riveted an extra alloy layer onto it

I was not happy with my flocked door top strips.  What I had to work with was damaged to start with some of the screws had exposed themselves on the outside very slightly and there were cracks in them, being held together with super glue in places and the such like, so an ideal opportunity for more carbon dontcha think?

I failed with whole car pictures in daylight again as its been raining all day, but I'm off work for the holidays now.  I will try to get some soon

I've been failing spectacularly with providing you with full car shots of the cap with new roof, much sorry-ness.

Allow me to redeem myself.  No Garage time this week, but today I fitted my boot cable release

And also another Christmas present. basically very similar to what I had as I like it but this one streams music from your phone as well as takes calls.

I've also been putting my stickers to good use and started to sticker bomb my dash center plastics

Not to everyone's tastes I'm sure but i can always peel them off if I change my mind

Here are some roof pictures for you lord.  These are about as good as its going to get until summertime + nice camera comes along

As you can see I was down the garage yesterday, but didn't do anything too exciting.  The car wasn't accelerating very smoothly again, a bit like the coilpack issue from the other week.  Checked the plugs and they had got caked up so gave them a quick clean and stuck them back in.  That lasted 20 miles and it came back again, so I have taken the grade 9's out and replaced them with my old set of 8's.  I think I will get myself a fresh set of 8's as they suit how the car gets driven better.

As well as that we noticed that my brakes had seized up again.  two were just slight and freed off easy but the offside rear caliper was stuck solid and took a bit more work to free off.  All are now spinning freely, but I should really think about a caliper upgrades as I have never been that impressed by them.  Plus the car gets driven every day so they shouldn't really seize up like that.

Little bits have been going on but not much to report really guys.  I did get myself a little Suzuki sock.

One of my Christmas presents was an under seat 8" sub and I got it fitted a while back.  Sadly even though its one of the thinnest of its kind it still didn't quite fit under the seat.  It was fine at the front, but the back sat proud   Cue Head scratching at it ended up at the bottom of the passenger footwell.  It does cut into the passenger legroom by about 3" but I don't sit there

Its added a lovely low thump to the stereo now, but then the other day the fuse on it blew    I think I need to make a better earth for it as its only temp fitted at the mo so we can access it and fine tune things. I will tidy the wires up a bit more once everything is working happily again.

I also got hold of some RX7 FC four pot calipers recently,  My plan is to copy the Japs a make them fit, although I have no idea what discs will work just yet but I'm sure we will work it out   Sadly all the Minkara links have broken now, except one, so this picture is all I have to go on

And the calipers

I have bought a rebuild kit for them and have begun shaving off the Mazda sign on them.  I will also give them a lick of paint so they match the rears.

Look at that fresh turbo oh lord....

Is that the same turbo timer as mine?

This car has has some serious love. I wish there were more people like you Nikki to sponsor a poor cappuccino and bring it back to health....

Read this in the voice of a charity campaigne. Lol

Just 200 pounds a month can bring a cappuccino A new lease of life. Watch it run wild once again on the B roads whilst its owners feel the sense of open air freshness. watch your little bundle of joy as it sleeps in the heated garage. We give you the ikkle Suki cappo

Lol

Last few bits have come!

I ordered some Fuchs Titan from Opie.  That came the other day, seems sensible to do with a new turbo going on.  Final part of that puzzle.

And my Six Sixty Engineering Manifold is in the house. Thank you very much Steve!

So I have all the major parts ready now, roll on the weekend!!

Got access to better camera now.  Have a random carbon shot

Had a little fiddle the hoop and rear window too

And inspected the damage from an oversized B&Q speedbump

Bye Bye

DAL started the strip down and fitting the new hoses

I took some comparison shots of the old and new.  Size size on the outside but a fair difference with impeller sizes

Also stuck the old turbo next to a skyline tubby to get a better idea of its tinyness

The refit

Hard intake pipe added to go with the new install

Also included while fitting was a new set of plugs, oil change and a new oxygen sensor for good measure

Snapped a few Vids of before and after quickly, excuse the dirty

This is after so it was a bit cold still

I set the boost controller to off and ran with actuator pressure on the way home, even still it felt great.  As good as the old tubby did even set at over 20psi and a lot nicer and smoother with a more constant power delivery that no longer tails off.  One very happy girly right here   Can't wait to go for a spin later and start setting up the boost controller

How are you finding the turbo+ intercooler?

I noticed there was a considerable amount of turbo lag relative to stock, but once it did kick in it went all the way up to red line

Planning to do a 0-100 test?

Got round to doing a few bits on Saturday, actually spent about 6 hours on the car, managed to get the doors and mirrors in White

Found that one of the wing mirror caps had been broken and mastic'd on

Among other things I put a new ashtray in and accelerator pedal rubber (thanks Kei).
