I think both forums offer different benefits.  Clupcappo has no charge to join, is easy to set up, and is an excellent point of reference which offers very helpful advice.

Score on the other hand has an annual charge, yet has more going on in terms of organised club meetings, Dealer discounts, cheap merchandise and more members with (sorry Andy) maybe more collective Cappo experience.

I think any positive promotion and knowledge sharing of our beautiful car is a good thing, and I am happy to be a member of both groups, as are many others reading this I am sure!

As to why Andy decided to set up clubcappo, only one mans knows the answer to that.  All I will say is keep up the good work!

Agree with ^. It's good to have club cappo though - for those of us who don't have money to spare on the other site and just need a quick answer!

Some very well put answers there.

The reason for ClubCappo is simple - to provide a free club for all to participate in as fully as they wish, whether they currently own a Cappuccino or not.  Many members have joined first and then bought a Cappo and that can only ever be a good thing.  Some members are simply car enthusiasts and enjoy reading and contributing to the forum.  Whatever their reason for joining, everyone is most welcome.

As for the benefits mentioned I'd have to say (in ClubCappo's defence lol):

Organised events.  Yes some people like these - others however do not.  Driving round in a line at 30 MPH isn't everyone's cup of tea.  If people want to organise something then all I can say is go for it!

Dealer discounts.  Yes a 10% dealer discount is offered by certain Suzuki dealers, but not all.  Dany at CappuccinoSport however can get genuine Suzuki parts for far less than 10% off UK dealer price so...

Cheap merchandise.  If people would like I could offer inexpensive merchandise, but never cheap   I experimented with a few designs and was rather pleased with them and if the demand is there then why not.

More members.  But for how much longer? Who knows and, more to the point, who cares? lol. I'd go for quality over quantity any day of the week.  185 members so far is pretty impressive and more than I expected.  There is a big member base from Australia where most of the benefits actually count for nothing.

Collective knowledge.  A big plus point and no mistake.  How much of that knowledge assumes the reader understands what is being said when it is very technical? (That isn't meant to sound condesending but why use overly long technically worded explanations when they are not needed?) I, and other members, try to make any information or advice as easy to understand for all as possible.  I even include pretty pictures for Jay!

As this post no doubt shows a big part of ClubCappo is having fun and not taking life seriously.  Life's too short so let's enjoy it while we can!  That said, the serious stuff is always answered appropriately.

Hope this helps to explain why we are here.  If it doesn't please feel free to ask.

Oh and welcome sms2750  - nearly forgot that bit!!

Not sure what kind of merchandise you have in mind Andy, but you might find http://www.cafepress.com/ of interest.

That's the kind of site I used to do some mock up stuff.  Hopefully I've still got it written down somewhere!

I'll make an album of the mock ups when I've got a spare minute and see what people think.

hey all i cant wait to show u all some pic's. For your question Jay. a hotdog well the best i can describe is like a turbo muffy but it is near the gear box and the pipe work continues after that. i mainly made this choice because i live on a dirt road. i need as much clearance as i can get so i don't bottom out on any of the bumps. keeping the car clean is hard enough. the vibrations are that bad on the road the screws in the roof clips keep comming undone, so i have used locktight on the screws to keep them in. The nest main problem i find is the amount of dust in the rear brakes makes them squeek alot. say talking about rear brakes, anyone know where i can get rear pads? the last set i got about 2 years ago i got from suzi sport in brisbane and they cast $260!! i have had the car since the end of 2002 and havn't had any big problems with it. the main thing i find bad about the car is not many people see it on the road. just over a year ago i had a guy cut  me off and it the drivers side front quater. not much damage but it cost them $1260 to fix. i would not mind getting a boost controller and BOV fitted next. i'll try get some pic's for u call to see.
Stewart
P.s. can someone help me where i can get parts from in Rockhampton QLD.

Hi, My name is Jules AKA Scubababe...cos I love Scuba Diving. Just bought my first Cappuccino.  Test drove one when they were first in the country and have pined for one ever since. (Decided it was far too impractible so bought a car with a proper boot instead!) Just sold my motorbike and used the money to buy Minky. She is my second car and is my play thingy. I live in Derbyshire in a liccle village which has some bootiful winding roads through some glorious countryside. Being an (now ex) motorbike rider I appreciate good roads.

Am really looking forward to meeting more Cappuccino Owners and sharing/exchanging notes...even though mine are V.limited at the moment....I make up for it in enthusiasum!

Happy Cappuccinoing

OH yes...silly me. Told you i'm new at this.

I've just bought a 94 (M) Cappuccino. Red with 95K on the clock.
Just had new S/Steel exhaust...sounds very vroom...vroom (Sexy) if you get my drift.
Both sills replaced.
and apart from that at the moment she's pretty standard. (No extra bits....yet!!)

Hasn't been serviced for about 11,500 miles so she's in today getting a full service which includes new sump fitted as the old one " has been previousy fixed with erodite!" Luckily that's about as bad as the garage found.

Will let you know how we get on. Need to get some rusty wheel arches sorted..nothing major yet...but want to get them sorted before they get too bad.

She's a beauty. Yes I know i'm biased. But i'm the pround owner of Minky and I want to tell the world.

Always nice to see new owners, Jules I just had a stainless steel exhaust fitted recently so I know what you mean about the sound! You say no extra bits yet? Have you thought about what bits you will be after?

Had a brief look at the Cappo sport website. Will have a longer drool later.

Looking forward to seeing other Cappo's and getting ideas.

Hi Liz,

Yes I have been looking at Suki in different poses this morning. What is it they say..." if you've got it flaunt it " and let's face it Cappuccino's have it all the way.

Boy racers can keep their speed. Minky loves to purrrrrr along posing....unfortunately she has to drag me along..... Can't have everything!

Hi Andy,

Well I hope your Cappuccino went with you and you didn't leave her home alone!

Still waiting to get Minky out of the garage, hopefully today. At least I'll know that mechanically she'll be good. Want to make the most of the fast fading summer.

I'm afraid he didn't come with me no.  Shame as the weather and roads in Guernsey would have been perfect too!  Sadly though that would have involved a ferry and I don't do boats!!!!    23 and a half hours in a force 9 storm has that effect on people.  (Should only have been a 4 hour crossing to Guernsey!)

ooh! Yes I think that is a valid point. Force 9 wouldn't appeal to me and I've got sea legs. At least you had a good time and will still be able to get out in your Cappo before the summer is gone. (optimism Liz) Looking out the office window, blue skys, the sun is out, and I pick up Minky from the garage this afternoon...perfect!
