Hello everyone i'm from Northern Ireland.I have just bought a 1993 red Cappuccino.I drove it 513 miles home and enjoyed every minute of it.It only went through £45 of Super unleaded on the journey home. It's had new floor pans fitted and is generally in good condition.Over this coming winter I plan to totally rebuild it and leave it in as new condition.I have a good contact in Japan who can supply me with any parts I need. After the body rebuild I aim to tune it up a little with an upgraded turbo,FMIC,injectors and a few other little mods.I think an engine rebuild with forged internals will be on the cards as it has covered 106,000 miles. My brother has had a Silver Cappuccino which he bought 3 years ago as accident damaged. He started to rebuild it but then stopped. He had never driven it and after driving mine he now is going to complete his. |

Hello all, the wife has a 91/92 (not sure) silver cap. I have the joy of servicing this little puppy. Live in Jersey and it's just the business when your cranking it up down those tight little lanes
I think the first thing I will do is drop the K&N in. |

Welcome Sdd!
You sure are lucky living over there. Never actually been to Jersey but I holiday in Guernsey a lot and would love to take my Cappo over as the roads are perfect for it! Sadly three people don't fit in the Capp plus i don't do boats!
I would definitely recommend the K&N filter - simplest mod there is and yet has a great effect! There is a link to filterpower in the links section who have given us a good deal. |

Hi all
I own a red '94 Cappo with 57000 miles showing (along with some rust blisters and different coloured body panels) This is my 2nd Cappo - I owned a rare(r) silver version for all of 3 hours before writing it off. Andy has just purchased the remains of it - so do politely decline my offers to drive your pride and joy! It does, however, make the silver ones even rarer.
The Cappo shares a garage with my Suzuki Hayabusa, Suzuki RGV250 track-day bike, Suzuki TS185 off-roader and Suzuki RB50 Gag bike - notice a common theme here? Odd one out is the V***o V40 I use for lugging shopping and grandkids about in.
hope to meet up with some of you soon (Andy has "persuaded" me to attend Japfest next weekend) later Garry. |

But the good news is Garry has shown how strong the Cappo is! To walk away from that without a scratch is testiment indeed.

Hi, this is Magnus (Mag for short) just bought my first capp, infact pick it up tomorrow. Will be used at weekends to (hopefully) put a smile on my face after a long week at work! It is silver, 1993 with 74K on the clock. looked in pretty good condition, standard, no mods etc ( again,I hope it is ). I will post a pic once I get it home. I am planning on completly covering it with vehicle wrap (I am in the digital printing game) to see how it looks, just deciding what image to put on it. I live in Macclesfield, so anyone close by?? I normally drive an audi allroad . Thanks for reading, hope to meet some of you in the not too distant future. Mag |

Hi Andy thanks for the reply. looking forward to getting it. I am sure I will be asking for all sorts of advice/questions etc. Yes, Cat & Fiddle sounds fun! Regarding digital printing, yes I sell systems mainly for printing onto textiles, so cottons, silks etc but also do alot of 'small format' stuff for printing on T shirts, mouse mats, coasters, bags etc. ie personalised products. If I can be of any help with your merchandise, more than happy...... |

well, picked up up my little 4 wheeled bundle of fun this morning & have had a blast all day with it, my 14 year son thinks it 'wicked' & my wife thinks it is 'very nice', & I think it is just brilliant, so thumbs up all round! The engine seems excellent & a great sound from the s/steel exhaust & with a little TLC to the bodywork, I am sure I can have it looking halfway as good as some I have seen in the gallery.I have had the roof down & been up around the hills near the CAT & FIDDLE. I can't believe it has taken me this long to come across such a great little car- much more practical than the motorbikes ( & even road legal quad bike) I have had in the recent years. I can even chuck my paraglider on the passenger seat- what a perfect day that will be in the summer! Haven't had time to take a photo yet, too busy enjoying my great new toy. Looking forward to meeting & seeing some other cappo's soon. Mag |

Hello All
Kei based near Cambridge here, owned my Capp for 1 1/2 years now, M reg, JDM spec, no ABS, no PS, in red. I drove large german cars before and am really glad of my change.
My Capp is an everyday car, with the occasional trackday spec.
56i induction kit high flow intercooler manual boost control valve new performance pipework Bailey BOV EBC clutch EBC green stuff pads PAL delimiter and boost box (for track only) Magnecor competition Leads Occasionally irimac plugs. Suzuki Racing Cambelt Suzuki Aluminium strut support She is the non cat variety and has a R1 carbon racing can instead of the unecessarily heavy rear box, last test she was only just pushing 90dB.
The engine itself is unmodded although i have removed the aircon for obvious reasons, other than that she is a fairly standard car to look at all bar the larger 15" alloys on the rear. Plus she has been labelled as a sport thanks to Dani
This car has given me more fun and smiles per £ than anything else. She holds her head up high when tracking with bigger cars and out brakes and accelerates quicker than some of the more timid lotus and catterham drivers, hell i've even had 535's slowing me down on track With the improved responce and almost go kart feeling you get from low profile tyres and strut bar, mixed with the awesome noise from the exhuast, punctuated every gear change with a loud swoosh and the transmission whine you get right next to you, the touring car feeling comes out and it's fun fun fun untill the fuel runs out.
At the moment i'm saving money for parts, need LSD and suspension, plus the cross style 2 body kit is selling on yahoo.jp for 104,000 y a kit i'm desperate for. I am also looking for an underbody frame to stiffen the car up, but have only seen home made versions on score, my weldings not toos great and don't want to risk it
Ideally i want to get the car as close too a good race spec as possible.
I've replaced clutch, head gaskets, polished and replaced valves, removed turbo's etc on mine with very little hardship so any help i can offer just shout.
Will adds pics when i get a chance to upload.
Bye for now
Kei |

Kei, I assume you already know this, but a rear strut brace will make a pretty big difference too. It gives you much more feel of what the back end is doing so I expect would be very good to have on a track.
What level of boost are you running?

Hi all
Thanks for the warm welcome, the cars not a beast Yet, i tell you i've considered allready about getting rid of the Capp and getting my dream Rex, but this car has more charm than me so i cant possibly lose it just tune it
Regarding the rear strut brace, i've read a private jap Capp site where the owner implied that after installing such a device he didn't notice any improved handling, however it didn't look like he was tracking his baby. It is something i can manufacture so might give a go.
Although it's hard to say as i've recently dropped my boost gauge but the car is running at approximately 1 bar, on good days with the new intercooler it feels more like 1.3 - 1.4 (i've had 1.4 bar previously on the original intercooler for approx 10 secs then pipes and the brake cylinder non return valve failed) .
My next major purchase has to be a 1.5 way LSD I would love the 2 way but it's way too dangerous to have on a road car. I want to enter this car in the UK drift championships next year and an LSD is the only major requirement.
I wait with baited breath for info on the body brace, it looks like it could do so much too the handling.
Is there anyone on this site toying with seriously racing capps and other Kei class cars, allways thought it a great idea and after track day'ing at Mallory park (one of the shortest tracks arround) last month i can see it a seriously entertaining formula. I have been thinking quite a bit about that so if anyone else has pm me if interested.
Thanks again for the welcome and pics are coming.

I think in the Australian section there's a thread on a capp here in track racing... I wouldn't sell my capp for a Rexy personally. Every man and his dog has one here! Welcome though Kei! |

I've seen the site you mentioned and it did make me wonder about the benefits of fitting a rear brace, but I'm young and reckless so I ordered one anyway (Andy made me). It definitely made a difference to my car. They're a bit of a pain to fit as you have to hold the fuel filler pipe out of the way to get to one of the nuts.
The chassis brace idea sounds very interesting to me too. Should stiffen it up nicely! |
