I'm in the middle of welding in fresh pieces of metal, the whole underbody will be grinded and sand blasted in hard to get areas.

Hi everybody, my girlfriend I areally now the proud owner of a 94 import in satellite silver. We saw a couple at a car show last year and have been looking to acquire one since. Unusually, our new car needs a bit of tlc but we're hopeful of getting out in it this summer! New sills are required, I did a search, but any advice on where I can get a pair from?

Hi there and, congratulations. You can order new sills through your local Suzuki dealer but they have to come from Japan and there not cheap ! Enjoy the summer if we have one !

Hi there and welcome

As said above Suzuki is the only place you are going to find them unless you get lucky and they appear on ebay (they do sometimes but very rarely)

Any other good tips for service parts? Halfords have just the oil filter, and I can't seem t find rear disks or tming belt kits other than on ebay?

Thanks

Service parts are quite readily available and there are tips on changing them all on the forum (how to). Ebay is good for parts and I've used companies like A-Z and ICP. if you want genuine Suzuki parts then try the Suzuki Shop...also on ebay.
Did you manage to get a price on New sills ? Cheers.

I'm new here, from the Seattle area in the US. I don't have a Cappuccino yet but I'm planning on importing one from the Japanese auctions this year. Still researching, I feel like I'm about to play Russian roulette with the rust god, wish me luck lol.

Cheers for the tip. I will have a look over the weekend. I did get a price from my local dealer, 180 a side. I'm not sure if I think that's fairly reasonable for a 25 year old niche car, or daylight robbery! The parts guy said they had stock in the UK which sounded nice but other body panels have been deleted.

And that price will be for the outer sill only so fingers crossed the middle and inner aren't needed too...

Haha, yep. Is there any way of telling (without taking the outer off) what the status of the inner and middle sills is?

Yeah there are loads of holes in the inner sill to get a look inside.  You do need to remove the seats and carpets to get a good look though.

Goodness, I am glad I removed the carpet and did a thorough check today, the inner and middle sills are fine but the lower drivers side seatbelt mounting points was completely rotten and just fell apart. I dread to think how that would have stood up in an accident.

I would highly recommend all check theirs, the bolt head and strap anchor were visibly rusty so should be a simple indicator.

I'll start a new thread so.ewhere to post the progress pictures...

Hi All,

I am the happy new owner of a 1995 Cappo!! Being an American studying Motorsport Engineering at Oxford Brookes University, I think I have found the ultimate road-going toy in the Cappuccino and a car I would never have the chance of owning back in the US.  It has put a huge smile on my face and I think I got lucky with the condition and vehicle history.  Looks pretty much brand new both inside and outside and is 99% stock apart from a (10 year old?) JVC CD player radio fitted and Cobra alarm.  Car has 52k miles on the clock, with only 4,000 miles driven in the last 10 years! Minimal rust and smooth sailing through all previous MOT's as the records show.  Bought it off a lovely older gentleman who purchased it from an elderly lady himself and it has been one of many cars in his small collection for the last decade or so.  The cam belt was done at 46k miles but back in 2006, so that will be the first (and hopefully only!) thing I address with the car.  I'm a bit torn between doing the cam belt myself and having a shop do it, I figure I'll keep my hands clean if I can find a place to do the job for less than 200.  Welcome to hear any thoughts and feedback!

Congratulations Spencer and welcome to Cappuccino ownership. You should be able to take it back to the States in 2020 when it is 25 years old.

Hi all

Trying to be an owner of a cappuccino, but as the importation in my country takes lot of money, I'm looking for a cheap one... It's going to be hard.

Anyway thank you for letting me join.

I'm from Portugal. I have been informing myself about the taxes. And it is going to be around 1200¤ to legalize it. The whole budget for the car at the moment is 2500¤. So I have to search for a cheap, cheap one. I don't mind if it has work to be done. So I'll search around for one.

Well done to Andy and the community here. Great bunch and you made owning a capp even better. So thank you all.

I bought my first capp on my way to buy a 4wheel offroader, bit of a surprise when I brought a red capp home instead. Even more of a surprise when I disrespected it on a wet morning on an overpass s curve after coming off a roundabout. Gardai offered me a lift home from the wreck. I declined only happy to be able to walk away.

Got a jap import limited edition and it stuck to the road, found this site and it gave the car many years of extra life. Parked it up in 2015 as I was in China a lot and I missed an NCT (MOT). Car has a new owner who seems very excited with it and appears to want to race it. Seems to know his stuff by all accounts. So as gaeilge (Irish) sin é (that is that) agus slán go fóill (bye for now)... I may be back and I genuinely thank you all for your help over the years (go raibh maith agaibh)

Hi all, I'm based in Peterborough and I've finally got myself a 93 UK cappuccino yesterday and despite having to drive it tentatively home I love already. The car needs a cambelt change and I've been directed to the great guide but where do people get their belts from? I want to make sure I get a decent one but the Suzuki genuine parts on ebay list one as a waterpump belt (17521-80F52-000), does anyone know if this is the correct one or have any advice on where to get a decent one? Thanks Dan

Hi there and welcome!

12761-62D11 is the correct code for the belt which will still be available from Suzuki or if you put that number into ebay you'll find lots of the same belt (Gates brand) at massively different prices...  A MonsterSport upgraded belt usually comes in cheaper than a genuine one even after import costs...

That certainly looked like a good car. I hope you can keep it under cover, as it obviously had been, since the way the water drains (even with the roof up) tends to lead to structural rot! Enjoy!

Thanks Andy, I'll get that on order! Hi Nitram, the cars not too bad, I've stripped out the interior as the carpet was soaking and there are a few areas that need attention, it's definitely not rot free, but hopefully I've caught it early enough!

I think the carpet looks OK, just needs a clean and a dry out. It looks like a mouse has been using the central console behind the gearstick as a home with my alarm manual as some bedding.

Hi, thanks for the add!
Jaimy from the Netherlands (Dordrecht here), I own a '91 or '92 Satellite Silver Cappuccino.
Unfortunately mine suffered an engine seizure due to overheating, but I am happy to say I managed to get my hands on a replacement engine. So fingers crossed!

Hi all
I'm Sam, I own a 1995 Cappuccino in dark green. It is the last car of only 33 sold officially new in New Zealand, one of 34 currently registered and one of only 2 1995 models registered here.
